Marry Me Twice (Kennedy and Charlotte) novel Chapter 422

Alice just wrapped the tape measure around his waist. Hearing this question from him, she paused.

She sneered and tightened the tape measure.

Hate?

Why did he think she hated him? Did he worth of her hating him?

"Mr. Kennedy is joking. You are my guest. How could I hate you?" Alice pretended not to understand what he said, and wanted to muddle through it.

However, Kennedy frowned deeply.

"Is it?"

His voice was so light that she could hardly hear his emotions, "Then can you be a little gentle?"

Only then did Alice realize that she had tightened the tape measure a lot that Kennedy's waist was almost deforming.

"...Sorry!"

She withdrew her hands abruptly. Some cold sweats were on her forehead.

Alice lowered her eyes and couldn't help biting her lower lip in annoyance. How could she be affected by him so easily?

The room fell into an awkward silence. Alice wrote down the dimensions, and then took a step back with the tape measure. She picked up the notebook and wrote down all the dimensions just measured, so as not to forget it later.

Kennedy stood behind her, watching her petite figure.

"If you don't hate me, why do you treat me as a stranger?"

Alice's pen was stopped. She didn't answer, but recorded it carefully. After she finished the work, she put the small notebook away, and then stood up to face Kennedy.

"My job has been completed. Mr. Kennedy, thank you for your cooperation today. I still have other things to do, so I have to leave first."

After speaking, Alice turned around and was about to leave here.

Her wrist was suddenly held by him. Alice froze in place.

What was he doing?

"Hate me so much? You don't even want to stay with me for a moment?"

For some reason, Alice actually heard a tinge of self-deprecating pain from his words. Did she hear wrong?

"How could it be! Today is the weekend. I really have other things to do."

She tried to struggle a bit, trying to withdraw her hand.

But Kennedy squeezed her wrists tighter. Alice felt it hurt and she frowned. Then she turned her head back.

"If it wasn't the weekend today, if it wasn't for you to have other things to be busy with, would you be willing to stay with me for a while?"

Alice was speechless.

What on earth did he want to do? He said that he was married, but why was he acting in such a pathetic manner now?

Was it to lure her into being deceived? Then he could severely abandon her and hurt her again?

Thinking of this possibility, the look in Alice's eyes became very cold. She wanted to withdraw her hand, but Kennedy held it tightly. She could only helplessly say, "Mr. Kennedy, I really have other things to do. Please let me go."

"Nope." For the first time, Kennedy acted like a spoiled child. He looked at her sadly, "Would you like to hear me explain?"

What? Alice was stunned for a moment. Listen to his explanation?

Explain what? The matters about five years ago?

Her face paled a bit. After a while, Alice smiled awkwardly, "Mr. Kennedy, I don't think... you have anything to explain to me."

Kennedy gave a deep laugh. His laugher was full of self-deprecation, "It seems that you don't want to listen to my explanation, but what should I do if I don't want to let you go?"

Alice struggled, frowning. She was looking at Kennedy displeased.

Kennedy's eyes were very deep, as if he was about to see through her soul. Alice didn't dare to look into his eyes at all. She could only retreat hard.
