Chapter 59: Congratulations on the Grandson “Who was that?” Lily Lane asked, noticing

Sonya put away her phone.“An unknown number, a stranger.” 

She hung up and blocked the number. 

Lily Lane put her arm around Sonya.“See? You try to avoid them, and they won’t leave you alone. They’re bullies; if you back down, they’ll keep pushing you. You need to fight back.” 

Sonya shook her head. “I don’t like dealing with mad dogs. But if they bother me again, I’ll fight back fiercely.” 

Sonya spent another night with Lily Lane and apologized to Director Davis for the disruption caused by Luna Stone. The increased workload was undeniable. 

Director Davis took a drag of his cigarette and waved his hand.“I should thank you. You saved my reputation.” 

Sonya was puzzled.“Huh?” 

“Those investors–they kept adding actors and scenes. My original screenwriter quit, and the new one was terrible. The script was a mess. I felt like throwing up reading it. This incident gave me a chance to fire those useless actors and bring back the original screenwriter. My crew is finally clean again!” 

Director Davis was clearly relieved. 

Sonya smiled.“That’s good to hear, Director Davis.” 

Director Davis glanced at Lily Lane. “She’s a good actress, but let’s face it–she’s getting older; it’s hard to become a huge star at this age.” 

“She just wants to act, nothing more.” 

“Actors need to be dedicated and persistent.” 

“I’ll tell her.” 

“A friend’s crew is starting production soon and is looking for actors. Have Lily Lane audition after she finishes filming.” 

Sonya was delighted. Thank you, Director Davis.” 

Lily Lane had been worried about future work. 

Sonya returned to the villa in the afternoon. The florist arrived with three large bouquets of roses, explaining he hadn’t delivered them while she was gone. 

“I’ll carry them inside for you,” the florist, a young woman, offered. 

Sonya took them.“No, thank you. I can manage.”

“Sonya, you posted those photos and videos, right? Did you hire someone to spy on me? What do you want? You hate me because I stole Julian Jennings and want revenge? Why won’t you leave me alone? You’re destroying me!” 

Seraphina was hysterical. 

Sonya frowned.“I didn’t spy on you. I’m not that bored. You didn’t steal Julian Jennings, I left him. You tried to ruin me first; I merely retaliated.” 

Sonya walked home. Seraphina grabbed the roses, scattering them on the ground. “You buy yourself flowers? Are you that needy? Henry probably married you for show; he doesn’t love you! He can’t love you!” 

Sonya looked at the roses, smiling. 

“You’re upset not because I dated Julian Jennings, but because I married Henry–the Henry you confessed to and he rejected, right?” 

“You’re gloating now, but you’ll cry later.” 

“Luna Stone said the same thing. I married Henry. I might cry later, but you won’t even have the chance to.”

Seraphina trampled the roses. Sonya saw Mrs. Jennings, cold–faced, approaching with Yang sister, carrying bags of things, probably for Seraphina.
