Marrying the Man in the Dark (Damien and Cherise) novel Chapter 1136

Chapter 1136 Unexpected Opportunities
After spending an entire morning going through interview after interview, Cherise finally understood the harsh reality...

Most people were solely intrigued by the smallest tidbits about the city's wealthiest man, paying little mind to the appearance of his wife.

"Sigh…What should we do?"

Cherise, perched on a brown public bench situated by the roadside, leaned her weary head against Lucy's shoulder. "We've spent the entire morning sitting through nearly over twenty interviews with event planning firms… and not one of them has responded positively."

Lucy, her lips pressed into a determined line, continued swiping through the contents of her cell phone. "We've still got one more shot."

Cherise exhaled a long sigh of resignation. Her hopes for this final option were faint, flickering like a dying ember.

To her astonishment, upon their arrival at the Oak Tree Company, the interviewer dismissed detailed inquiries into their background and instead greeted them with a warm smile, "Congratulations! You both have got a place within our company. Please come in tomorrow, and you can officially begin working as an employee here."

Cherise stared incredulously at the individual before her. She hadn't even broached her high-value proposition yet, and yet the company had extended an offer so readily?

Gathering her composure, she directed her gaze at the interviewer. "Before that… I wanted to say that I came here with a proposition."

"If you choose to bring us on board, I assure you the opportunity to organize the Gray Group's reception party."

The interviewer raised an eyebrow in surprise, then smiled, "Wow! Then we'll bring you in!"

Stepping beyond the confines of Oak Tree Company, Cherise still felt as though she were floating in a dream-like state.

Glancing at Lucy, she inquired, "So…we landed the job, right?"

Lucy, equally baffled, nodded. "Seems like it."

"Since we got the job…should we get ourselves something delicious to feast on to celebrate the occasion?" Cherise proposed.

"Ok. Any suggestions?" Lucy responded.

"Let's see… there's a restaurant just downstairs that serves the best beef stew."

Chatting animatedly, the two women headed downstairs, their spirits lifted by the unexpected turn of events.

"Boss," the interviewer acknowledged through the phone call, observing their departure.
