Marrying The Supposed Gold Digger (Valerie) novel Chapter 986

'Money is more important. My mother only said that because she is too free now. She probably wouldn't be so free when Christmas and the others returned.'

Louis thought about it and finally heaved a sigh of relief.

After Valerie and the others returned, they were busy reuniting. Katherine returned to her cabin and did not go straight back to the Santos' manor.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Santos had only found out about their return from Instagram. The first thing she did was call Katherine back for dinner. Katherine didn't reply, nor did she pick up the call. This made Mrs. Santos a little exasperated.

Mrs. Santos had always been getting her way, especially when it came to her daughters. She had basically raised them single-handedly.

Dottie was useless now. Louis refused to listen to her, and her youngest daughter had already left the country.

Katherine ignored her. She only felt that she had failed. The daughters she had raised were all disobedient. As a mother, her dignity had been hit.

Mrs. Santos called Katherine again. This time, Katherine picked up. However, when Katherine heard her ask when Katherine would be back, Katherine felt frustrated.

"I'm already married. My husband's family is the most important for me, so I can't go back this time. I have to stay with Julian."

"What did you say? What kind of daughter doesn't return to her parents' home? You married him, not sold by him!"

Katherine could not help but sneer. "Have you forgotten? At that time, you said that you would completely sell me to their family after taking that 20 million dollars. You said that you would never look for me again! You made a solemn vow back then, but you forgot about it now!"

Mrs. Santos was speechless.

"You..."

"Alright, stop talking. I'm tired."

Katherine hung up the phone. Mrs. Santos was so angry that he smashed her phone. When Louis returned, he saw her crazy look and could not help but frown.

"What's wrong? Why are you angry again?"

"It's Katherine. She blames me for taking the money and still remembering what happened last time! Do you think this girl is crazy? She really wants to cut ties with me."

Louis said disapprovingly, "Mom, you can't blame her for this. You've already agreed not to interact with her anymore. I thought that you would be able to accept this fact. Never did I expect you to be like this."

Mrs. Santos was speechless. Then, she thought of something.

"It's all because of you. If it weren't for helping you, would I have been manipulated by her like this?"

Louis found it ridiculous. "Don't use me as a shield. I don't know anything. Besides, Katherine has her own life. Don't disturb her anymore."

Upon hearing his words, Mrs. Santos was instantly exasperated. She never expected her son to treat her like this.

Just as she was about to flare up, Louis stood up and said, "Since we can talk to you nicely now, don't be unreasonable anymore. Otherwise, if we said something bad and you don't look good, we won't care too much about your feelings.

"I'm sure you still remember how Katherine went overseas and the pain she suffered. There's no point in saying this now. I don't want to say those words again. Everyone won't feel good then."

At this moment, Louis was not polite at all. His words rendered her speechless, and she could only clench her fists.

Louis saw the anger on her face and could not help but remind her, "So, Mom, don't think too much. Live your life well. You're still the honorable Mrs. Santos. But if this continues, I don't know what I would do. Should I help Katherine sever ties with you or stay away from you?"

Mrs. Santos was speechless.

Katherine didn't come back. Louis looked like this.

She immediately fell onto the sofa. Louis glanced at her and went straight upstairs. Meanwhile, Katherine hung up the phone with a heavy heart.

As Katherine sat in the car, she looked out the window, but she could no longer hold back her tears.
