Charley Hart had been sulking for a long time, staring eagerly toward the kitchen. She wanted several times to go over and tell Sofia Schneider what she wanted to eat.

After watching Charley taste every dish, he cleared his throat and said, “Charley, what do you think? Isn’t your sister–in–law’s cooking especially good?”

But on her face, she remained aloof, putting on a proud facade. 

Sofia and Nathaniel Hart exchanged a glance. This little girl was still trying to act all high and mighty.

Old Mr. Hart said, “Today, Sofia cooked this whole table of dishes for you because of me and Nathaniel. Aren’t you going to thank her?” 

Charley was stunned.
