Sage stood at the entrance in a sleek suit, looking completely different from the scruffy state he was in a few days ago. Smiling politely at Chris, he asked, “Hello, sir. Is Ms. Zeller here now?” 

Chris glanced behind at Yvette, who sat calmly on the couch with her chin resting on her hand. He wondered, ‘Did she know Mr. Young was coming?‘ Turning to Sage at the doorway, he replied, “Yes, she’s here.” Then he moved aside to let Sage in. 

Sage told the man in black to wait by the door then strolled conflently into the presidential suite. When he saw Yvette on the couch, he was surprised as he never expected that she was a top veteran of Mysonna’s elite special forces. 

It was shocking that a woman could join Mysonna’s special forces. This was a testament to her strength in a male–dominated world. 

Sage’s smile widened further at the sight of Yvette. “Hello, Ms. Zeller. I’m here on behalf of Mr. Barnes to deliver the check he promised two days ago. Please accept it.” 

Sage’s humility when he spoke left Frankie and the others stunned since he was the second–in–command of the Steel Serpents‘ main faction. A respectful demeanor was normal since he asked Yvette for help with their injuries prior to this. However, the group couldn’t fathom the reasons behind his act today. They exchanged glances, thinking that Sage likely had a hidden agenda. 

Sage offered the check with both hands to show his sincerity. Yvette however, remained calm. Her cold gaze was steady and her legs casually crossed, showing no intention of getting up to accept the offering. 

Sage watched as Chris stepped forward to take the check. Chris glanced at the amount and paused for a moment. He then looked up at Yvette. “Boss, it’s 10 million dollars.” 

The amount was 3.3 million dollars more than they’d originally agreed upon, which was 6.7 million dollars. Bruce, Frankie, and Sienna who sat on the couch watching them, instantly sensed that something was off with Sage’s visit today when they heard this. 

Yvette narrowed her eyes slightly, resting her beautiful hand on the couch. Her gaze remained calm, showing no surprise. 

Sage was stunned by her reaction but still maintained his smile. He then sat down on the couch without hesitation and smiled at Yvette. 

Yvette looked up with an air of cynicism as she raised her defined brows. Nonchalantly, she said, “There’s 3.3 million dollars more.” 

Sage looked at Yvette, trying to gauge her reaction to seeing the extra sum. However, she remained impassive. After some deliberation, he spoke. 

“Ms. Zeller, the 3.3 million dollars is a gesture of Mr. Barnes‘ sincerity. With your qualifications, you deserve more than an ordinary life after being discharged from the military,” said Sage 

As Sage spoke, he closely observed Yvette’s face. Her expression showed no changes whatsoever, and he couldn’t discern anything at all. 

Sage then said, “If you’re interested, Mr. Barnes‘ doors are always open for you. We’re hungry for talent and are very eager to acquire talent like yours. Joining our faction means this 6.3 million dollars is just the beginning.” 

“Naturally, I understand it’s a small amount for you, But if you can assist Mr. Barnes in securing the Steel Serpent’s former business in the higher–ups meeting in five days, money won’t be an issue,” he added. 

After he finished speaking, Sage suddenly felt the itch on his body flaring up again. He tried his best to hide it, pretending nothing was wrong.

On the surface, his body seemed fine, but the itching was unbearable. No matter how the doctors examined him, they found no issues with his health. Yet lately, his body itched intensely at the same time cach day, making him want to writhe in discomfort. 

Frankie, and his friends grew increasingly puzzled by Sage’s words. The idea of Yvette being discharged from the military made no sense. Her age alone ruled out such a possibility, leaving everyone wondering what he could possibly mean. 

Yvette rested her chin on her hand, looking at Sage with a half–shile as his expression froze momentarily. The reason for his unbearable itch was something only she fully understood. 

Yvette smirked and lowered her gaze as she sat like a big shot. In response to Sage’s hopeful expression, she casually replied, “I’m not interested.” 

Sage knew that convincing Yvette wouldn’t be that easy. However, he refused to give up. Instead, he smiled even more sincerely and presented another shocking proposal. 

After discovering Yvette’s identity, he and Callum had already planned to offer her a position in their faction before arriving for the meet. 

“Ms. Zeller, with your impressive Mysonna Special Forces background and achievements, are you truly ready to retire and be a civilian? Please consider my offer carefully. If you join us, Mr. Barnes will ensure you’re well–treated and make you third–in–command,” said Sage. 

Frankie nearly crushed the glass in his hand, thinking,‘Damn it, what’s going on? In just two days, Sage and Callum are already eager to recruit Yvette. If she agrees, won’t that make her the third in command of the Steel Serpents‘ faction?‘ 

Bruce and Chris were just as shocked. Becoming the third–in–command of the Steel Serpents‘ top faction meant wielding power in Ybaulla’s underworld. 

They wondered what Callum and Sage had uncovered about Yvette to make them so eager to offer such extraordinary terms) to recruit her. 

The three men remained silent, waiting to hear what else Sage would say. 

Only Sienna didn’t fully grasp the situation, but there was a hint of curiosity in her expression. To her, it seemed like Yvette might be joining a gang now. 

Just thinking about it gave Sienna a thrill. She couldn’t help but sigh, wondering, ‘Why has no one ever asked me to be second–in–command of a gang or something?‘
