Callum shouted furiously, “Then why aren’t you taking action? Did you trick me?” 

“Ms. Zeller, we’re all part of the underworld. You must stand by your word, Sage said, his tone sharp. “You took Mr. Barnes money, yet now you want to break your promise?” 

Jasper remained silent, his expression unreadable. Yvette’s earlier actions had proven her competence. If she reneged on the deal, it would only benchit him. 

Yvette swung her foot as she raised an eyebrow, her gaze shifting between Sage and Callum with intensity. She repeated her words deliberately, “No one is leaving this place alive today? 

A gunshot shattered the tense silence before Callum and Sage could even process her words. Neither knew who fired first, but the instant the shot rang out, it ignited a chaotic exchange of gunfire between Jasper’s and Callum’s men. 

Callum and Sage quickly took cover behind their men, drawing their guns. Jasper, too, drew his weapon and fired at the two men. In an instant, both sides were locked in a brutal shootout 

Within minutes, the scene turned grim, with casualties piling up on both sides. Meanwhile, Yvette, having stepped aside. spotted a figure attempting to flee. Without hesitation, she raised her gun and fired at the person’s forehead, taking frim 

down. 

Amid the chaos of gunfire, Sage and Callum fired and ducked for cover, catching sight of Yvette nearby. Sage shouted over the noise, “Ms. Zeller, please–step in, we can’t hold them off much longer!”

Everyone was conscious and aware, able to speak, yet their bodies were completely frozen, as though paralyzed. Just moments before, the hall had been alive with the deafening roar of gunfire, but now it was eerily silent. 

The air was thick with the metallic scent of blood. Yvette was the only one still standing, her hands casually tucked into her pockets as she walked toward Callum, Sage, and Jasper. With a slight smirk on her face, she looked down at them with clear disdain. 

Callum and Sage couldn’t even find the strength to move a finger and a growing sense of dread filled their hearts.

Meanwhile, Yvette casually twirled the gun in her hand, its dark barrel gleamingly in the dim light. After a few 

shots, only Callum, Sage, and Jasper were left alive. 

The remaining survivors were all shot dead. Bodies lay scattered across the hall, and the walls were riddled with countless bullet holes. 

Yvette tucked her gun away, raising an eyebrow in subtle amusement, as if the dozen lives she had just claimed meant nothing. She turned her gaze to the three people, her voice slow and deliberate. “Why should I keep my promise to Ybaullans, hum?” 

The trio’s faces twisted with fury at her words, and Sage bellowed. “You despicable woman!”
