The next second, Yvette slapped Yelena’s face under everyone’s unbelieving gaze and pressed Yelena’s head onto the table. 

She scanned the room before lowering her gaze, telling Yelena indifferently. “I never hurt people on purpose. But between the living and the dead, I’d say I prefer the dead.” 

Jeremiah pinched the bridge of his nose and thought, ‘Go ahead and hit her. No matter what happens, I’ll be there to back 

you up.’ 

Emmett’s mouth twitched as he watched Yvette’s back and Yelena’s shocked face. He exclaimed inwardly, ‘Gosh! Yvette is the only one in the world who dared to beat someone up in the First Military District in front of so many people. 

‘Her way of dealing with troublemakers is always simple and rough. The dumbest thing Yelena did in her life was to accuse Yvette of hitting her. Well, now it’s happened–Yvette really beat her up! 

Emmett knew that even if Yvette beat Yelena to death, Jeremiah would not say anything but quietly take care of the aftermath. 

Everyone else was so shocked that they did not know how to react. Many looked at Yvette’s face, which was devoid of expression, and could not help but think, ‘As expected of Mr. Chavez’s fiancée. Their tempers are exactly the same–both are terrifying 

Camden was momentarily stunned when he saw Yvette press Yelena’s head against the table. It took him several seconds to react. “You… Let go of my daughter! Let go of Yelena. We can talk this over.” 

He did not dare to step forward because Jeremiah was standing right there, watching with a cold expression, showing no sign of stepping in. 

Yelena tried to raise her head with all her might, but her efforts were futile. She bit her lips so hard that it bled. Her eyes were full of humiliation and hatred, and she clenched her fists tightly. 

‘Why? Why? Why am I being trampled by Yvette again? I hate this… Yelena thought. 

Yvette shifted her gaze to Camden, but her expression remained unchanged. She curled her lips into a wicked smile and raised an eyebrow, saying, “Talk it over? Too bad, I’m not keen on talking to a fool.” 

The conference room went pin–drop silent. Yelena struggled harder upon hearing those words. Still, she could not break free from Yvette’s grip. Feeling utterly helpless, she bit her lips and wished the ground would swallow her up. 

Camden’s face stiffened. He knew exactly who Yvette was calling a fool. Everyone else naturally knew about that, too, but they all kept silent, each lost in their own thoughts. No one wanted to get on Jeremiah and Yvette’s bad side without reason, after all. 

Suddenly, a man’s laugh broke the silence of the conference room. Everyone turned their gaze to Tim, who had made the sound. 

Holding his coffee cup, he calmly gazed at Yvette. His eyes flickered as a kind smile crept on his face. 

He thought, ‘It seems Samantha’s worries are entirely unfounded. Yvette is no ordinary girl and doesn’t need my help. With just one move, she managed to silence everyone completely. Even I have to admit how impressive she is.‘ 

He nonchalantly played dumb and looked at everyone. “What’s up? Please go on. I just remembered a funny joke all of a sudden.” 

Everyone’s lips twitched. They could not believe Tim was thinking of a joke at a time like this and thought he was only making the situation worse.

Just then, the chief mediator, Joshua, bit the bullet and stood up le smiled at Yvette politely and uttered in an extremely friendly tone, “Ms. Zeller, let’s sit down and discuss the lawsuit filed by Ms. Lynch accusing you of deliberately harming her in Somalia. 

“In the meantime, could you please let her go first? We, as the hearing officers, won’t just listen to one side of the story.” 

Although he spoke with a brave front, he was quite nervous inside. He realized Yvette had a fiery temper, and it seemed like she had no qualms about pinning people on the table. 

Yvette glanced at Joshua indifferently and narrowed her eyes. Everyone was intimidated by her strong aura, and their heart skipped a beat. 

Yvette unhurriedly loosened her grip. Yelena’s gaze immediately turned malicious, and she tried to reach out while Yelena was off guard, but Yvette grabbed her hand mid–air. Yvette then slapped her so hard that she was left dizzy. 

Yelena fell back into her chair, her face going pale. The slap that landed on her face also shocked everyone at how violent Yvette was. 

Camden hurriedly checked Yelena’s face, revealing two distinct slap marks on both her cheeks. With a trembling voice, he said, “Mr. Chavez, your girlfriend has gone too far! Everyone, you saw it yourselves. 

“Mr. Chavez’s girlfriend hit my daughter right in front of you. Who knows how she treated my daughter back in Somalia? We, the Lynch family, will certainly seek justice for her.” 

At that moment, Yelena’s expression changed. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she tried to hold them back. 

In a pitiful, sorrowful tone, she said, “Everyone, look. This is Ms. Zeller’s true nature. She’s cruel and violent. I originally just wanted an apology from her, but now I’m definitely going to sue her and make her pay for what she’s done.” 

Yvette coldly watched Yelena and Camden perform a tearful act. Then, she turned around, walked to the main table, and sat down without saying a word.
