Everyone in the conference room was confused. They didn’t know who to trust. Yelena claimed that Yvette had hit her, but Yvette denied it. They wondered who was lying as they thought about the question in their minds. 

Yelena lowered her head, appearing deeply wronged–even her shoulders were trembling. Meanwhile, everyone looked at the unfazed Yvette, who was sitting in the main scat. 

A few seconds later, Tim addressed the group. “Since both sides have their own story, I have a question, Yelena. When exactly did you go to the hospital for a check–up?” 

Camden’s heart skipped a beat when he sensed that something wasn’t right. He thought, “Tim is acting strange today. Why does he keep interfering?” 

Of course, he didn’t know that if Tim hadn’t stepped in to help Yvette that day, Tim would have had to deal with Samantha’s cold shoulder for a month, or even longer, when he got back. 

Yvette cocked an eyebrow and looked at Tim coldly, but he responded with a very friendly smile. 

As Samantha had advised, when interacting with Yvette, he should put on his friendliest smile. Yvette slowly averted her gaze. She glanced down and smiled, but her smile seemed awkward. 

Yelena was momentarily stunned, hiding the diffidence in her gaze. “Mr. Mitchell, after I returned to Betrico, I didn’t go to the hospital immediately for a check–up because I was scared. After all, Yvette is Mr. Chavez’s fiancée, so I hesitated. 

“But after thinking it over all night, I realized I had to stand up for myself. I couldn’t just give in, so I went to Betrico Hospital the next morning.” 

Yelena spoke confidently, yet she was hesitant and scared. Everyone in the conference room felt that her explanation made 

sense. 

Joshua looked at Yvette and asked tactfully, “Ms. Zeller, do you have any evidence to prove your innocence?” After asking, Joshua braced himself and glanced at Jeremiah, hoping that he would be pleased with his attitude. 

Yvette sat in her seat as she rested her hands on the table. With a stoic expression, she glanced up. She narrowed her eyes and smirked before she said slowly, “Evidence?” 

Her voice made everyone pause and hold their breath. The crucial question of the day was whether Yvette had evidence to prove her innocence or not. 

If she did, then Yelena’s life would be over, and the Lynch family would be doomed. If not, although Jeremiah could protect Yvette, the gossip in Betrico would still be a significant challenge to face. 

Jeremiah turned to glance at Yvette as his eyes darkened. He wondered what kind of evidence she had. 

Yvette narrowed her eyes, looking at everyone in the conference room with the bearing of a big shot. Her presence was imposing. Looking aloof, she cocked an eyebrow and said, “If you want it, I’ll give it to you.” 

Emmett quickly took out a laptop from the black briefcase he carried. As he walked forward and placed it in front of Yvette, he said respectfully, “Yvette, it’s all set.” 

Everyone in the conference room watched the scene, their expressions varying. Yelena and Camden immediately looked anxious. 

Yelena glared at the laptop on the table, wishing she could rush over and smash it. It was without a doubt that Yvette must be playing some sort of trick on her. 

Back in Spaunia, there were only Yvette and her by the fountain, Yelena was sure that she hadn’t left any evidence or clues.

Yelena wondered what evidence could be on the laptop. Although she was reassuring herself, she couldn’t help but feel afraid, and her hands were trembling slightly. 

Camden turned stiffly to look at Yelena, using his eyes to signal to her what was going on. However, she had no time to pay attention to him due to her panic. She could only focus on Yvette and the black laptop before her. 

Tim got out his phone and took a picture of the scene. He opened his messaging app, found the contact labeled “The Mitchell Warriors,” and texted: [Yvette has started her counterattack.] 

Samantha immediately texted: [Why does Yvette look so pretty? She managed to steal my heart!]

Tim grimaced as he glanced down at the reply. He thought, ‘What did she focus on?‘ He had no control over Samantha. She had always been obsessed with looks since childhood. 

Tim texted: [I rushed here before I finished my meal.] 

Samantha texted: [I know. Yvette is really beautiful…] 

Tim texted: [Huh?] He looked puzzled. 

At the main seat, Yvette leisurely opened her laptop. She was calm and aloof. She rested her fingers on the laptop. Jeremiah handed her the flash drive. Yvette cocked her head as she looked at him intently. 

The two exchanged glances and smiled wickedly. There was no need for words; they both knew exactly what evidence each other was holding. 

All eyes were on Jeremiah’s hands. There was a mix of shock, surprise, panic, and fear in the room. The people in the conference room didn’t expect him to have evidence, too. 

Yelena was utterly terriffed then. She thought, What could be on that flash drive that Jeremiah is holding?‘ Upon seeing things spiral out of control, Yelena’s heart raced, and her expression looked stiff. 

Yvette quickly moved her hands in front of everyone in the conference room, her speed was so fast that it left everyone in a daze. They wondered if she was on another level. 

After one minute, just a step away from finishing, Yvette suddenly stopped. She glanced up and smiled halfheartedly. Everyone was tense as they wondered what had happened and why Yvette had stopped. 

Yelena let out a sigh of relief and smiled at Yvette provocatively. Yelena thought, ‘I bet that she’s bluffing. Otherwise, why would she stop now?‘
