“I‘ve transferred here somewhere else. You won‘t see her again.”

“I don‘t want you to transfer her. I want her out of Carter Corporation,” Sylvia said with clenched teeth. She added, “I know she saved Grandmother before, and if you think you owe it to her, give her some money, or refer her to work somewhere else.”

The call went silent all of a sudden.

Thoughts were running through the man‘s mind as he remained quiet for a while.

Sylvia‘s expression turned cold. “Odell, if you have nothing else to say, that‘s it.”

He remained silent, so she hung up the phone.

Back at the Carters‘ residence in Westchester, the man‘s towering figure stood outside the front yard. He stared at the phone after the call ended, and his brows furrowed. Helplessness and annoyance were smeared all over his face.

He had transferred Shermaine somewhere else within the company, and it would be difficult for him to see her anymore.

Odell woke up and grabbed his phone from the side to text Cliff. “I‘m not coming in today. Call me if there is anything urgent.” Cliff texted back instantly, “Noted.”
