Chapter 1478
Sherry’s eyes flickered.
Maybe because her patience was worn out after days of fruitless waiting, she suddenly decided to come out from hiding. She crossed her arms and stared back at him arrogantly.
John smiled and strode over to her.
Sherry sat on the ground, leaned back on the wall, and refused to move.
Soon, his slender and towering figure arrived before her eyes, shadowing the light from her sight.
“What are you doing here, Sherry?”
His hands pocketed in his trench coat as he looked down at her condescendingly. “No money to buy food, or are you trying to experience what a homeless person feels like?”
Sherry glared at him. “Where’s Caprice? I want to see her!”
“Caprice is too busy to see you.” John then turned around and headed to the parking lot.
Sherry bolted up and chased after him. “Where did you send her? Why is she so busy?”
The girl did not need to go to school, so how could she be busy? It had been days since she saw her daughter.
John ignored her and continued forward.
Sherry followed him to the car. Confused, she continued asking, “Master Stockton, what did I do to make you unhappy?”
John continued to ignore her. Although he might be wearing a pair of golden–framed glasses that symbolized politeness, he emanated a frosty and cold feeling.
Sherry felt like she was looking at a stranger.
They soon arrived at the car.
The bodyguard opened the door for him, and he slightly bent over to get in.
Just before he could set foot inside, Sherry mustered her courage and held him back by pulling his arm.
John froze. Even Peter and the bodyguards instinctively took a few steps back.
John turned around. He stared at her hands on his arm and slowly moved closer to her face.
Sherry furrowed her brows at him. “Where did you send Caprice?!”
