Chapter 1679
The girl in the man’s arms pouted as a hint of helplessness gleamed in her eyes. Her father had woken her up, and she was still sleepy.
However, since they were coming for her mother, she simply let her father off the hook this time.
Sherry ignored the man and looked at Caprice with a gentle gaze.
John was aware of the gentle gaze, so he put Caprice down on her own.
Caprice waddled her way to her mother. Sherry picked the girl up and carried her into her arms.
“Mommy, did you just come back?” the girl asked with pouty lips.
Sherry answered softly, “Mommy got held up by something.”
“Mm-hmm…” Caprice yawned and then leaned into Sherry’s neck.
Sherry carried the girl to the elevator. She walked past John’s side without the slightest pause.
For a moment there, John was silenced by her response. He cleared his throat subtly to signal the girl.
Caprice, who was leaning against her mother’s shoulder, looked up.
Sherry was not aware of the man’s grunts and the girl’s change of expression. She pressed the elevator button with her idle hand.
Before the elevator arrived, Caprice feigned grievance and started to sob, “Daddy, Daddy, don’t go…”
Sherry was slightly surprised. She looked at the girl and saw her looking at her father with a pout. She frowned and looked at John.
John curled his lips and said to Caprice, “Caprice, you miss Mommy, don’t you? You can stay with Mommy for the night, and I pick you up in the morning.”
Caprice pouted again. “No, I miss Mommy and Daddy. I want Mommy and Daddy together with me.”
John wore a troubled look. “Caprice, be a good girl.”
