There was a brief, damning silence on the other end of the phone. Then, Liam’s calm voice rang out, “I need to know about this friend of yours.”

Caprice told him everything, “His name is Trey Rockon. He’s the guy who drove me to your house last time His father is the chairman of Rockon Technology, and his sister Piper is also a close. friend of mine.”

After she finished speaking, Liam did not respond. Her uneasiness increased the longer the silence lingered.

Caprice breathed a sigh of relief, then she told her about her meeting with Liam tomorrow.
