Mated to the Alpha King-Book 1 novel Chapter 29

"Audrey! Are you okay? I'm sorry, I thought you were still in the shower. I got waffle batter on my shirt so I came up here to change. I'll go down stairs."

"Ow. Yeah it's okay. Everything is all good. Except that I caught my leg on the door thing and now I need a band-aid."

"Would you like me to get you one?"

"Yes please."

Lucas walks out of closet leaving me to quickly get dressed in a yellow floral dress.

As I fix the bottom of the dress Lucas knocks on the door with a hand over his eyes.

What a gentleman.

"Can I come in?"

"Yeah I'm dressed."

Lucas leads me over to the sofa poof in the middle of the closet and has me sit down.

Slowly getting the band-aid out of the package, Lucas covers my scratch.

Before I can stand Lucas places a soft kiss to my thigh where the center of the bandage is.

"All better. Now let's go get breakfast."

Holding my arms up like a toddler, Lucas picks me up and carries me out of our bedroom, down the stairs, and into the kitchen.

Sitting in front of me on the kitchen island is a beautiful stack of waffles with whipped cream and chocolate syrup over the top.

Translate that-The best breakfast to ever be invented!

I grab my fork and dig into the massive pile of deliciousness.

"Audrey. I was thinking."

Wiping the chocolate from my chin I turn to look Lucas in the eye.

"About?"

"About when we should have the coronation."

Oh right. I have to do that. Fun.

Hint the sarcasm.

"Okay. When is it going to be?"

Lucas scratches his chin and then rubs his neck.

"What?"

"I was thinking the next full moon..."

What.The.Heck.

Next.Full.Moon.

Two weeks.

"If you think that's too soon then we can move it but the sooner we take over I feel like the better. My parents are getting older and I want them to be able to relax."

I rub my index finger over my thumb. Dang you nervous tick.
