"Oil?"
When Luca touched two of the stairs, his eyes darkened.
Benjamin looked at him and asked, "Luca, what did you find?"
Luca didn't answer him immediately, but put his fingertips on the tip of his nose and sniffed for a while.
"Someone poured oil in the stairwell."
Luca recognized it and said in a low voice, "The cooking oil should be taken from the kitchen!"
"What?"
Benjamin frowned, "How could this be?"
Someone must have done it on purpose! How could the cooking oil used in the kitchen be poured in the stairwell? Obviously someone wanted to hurt Daryl on purpose!
"Ask the servant to clean it up first."
Luca stood up and said indifferently, "Then tell your father about it when he comes back."
"Okay!"
In the evening, Zack came back from the company after work.
When he got home, he didn't see Daryl who was eating snacks on the sofa as usual. Instead, he saw two kids waiting for him.
"What's up?"
Both of them looked serious. At a glance, Zack knew that they had something to discuss with him.
"Daddy, Mommy almost stumbled when she went upstairs today!"
With a straight face, Benjamin said seriously, "You have to investigate it carefully!"
"Yes, we found that someone had poured oil on the stairs where Daryl stepped."
Luca also said lightly, "Cooking oil. If I'm not wrong, it should be from the kitchen at home."
Hearing that, Zack frowned.
"Sir, I'll check it right away."
Sensing the seriousness of the situation, Dillon said.
"Wait!"
Zack ordered in a low voice. "Don't alert the enemy for the time being."
Then Dillon then stopped immediately.
Zack then looked at the two little fellows on the sofa and ordered in a low voice, "I'll go upstairs and ask Daryl. Keep it a secret for the time being."
"Okay, daddy.”
Although Benjamin wanted to find out the person who hurt his mommy as soon as possible, his daddy didn't want to alert the enemy. Zack should have a reason.
Zack went upstairs to look for Daryl soon.
Daryl just woke up and poured herself a glass of water.
Hearing the sound of the door, she knew that Zack had come back.
"Were you sleeping just now?"
As soon as Zack returned to his room, he saw the sleepy look on her face.
"Yes."
Daryl nodded. She put down the glass, reached out to hug him and leaned against him.
He held her in his arms and rested his chin on her soft hair.
"Tell me, what happened at home today?"
His deep voice came from above her head. Daryl guessed that he had known the accident.
So she told him the truth, but her voice was very soft, with a sense of coquetry.
"I went upstairs to have a rest in the afternoon, but I almost stumbled over the staircase. Fortunately, Baylee held me in time."
"Okay."
Then Zack looked down at her and asked in a low voice, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine."
Daryl also looked up at him. Her eyes were very gentle. "I have slept for a while and now I get up. Nothing serious. I was just a little scared at that time."
"Idiot, don't go upstairs alone anymore."
Zack said in a low voice, "You have to bring people with you wherever you go, understand?"
