Mistaken Identity novel Chapter 45

Kalliyah's POV

Three weeks later.

I was still devastated about what happened between Alex and I. When I reached back to New York, it turned the one person who has never hurt me, Carlos. He opened his arms without judging or asking questions. That's what I loved about him, he's always there. I have been living with him too but I plan to move out as soon as I get a new apartment. I was going to town today to look for one. Although know I'd be extremely lonely since I don't have Grey with me anymore. He was still in Los Angles, with his family. Even he had someone now. It seems like my life is bound to be miserable. I kind of expected the fact that I'm never going to be truly happy. There was always going to be something or someone that hurts me.

I still haven't started working either. Since I've being back most times I was weeping and the rest I'd go to the park and paint. That helped a lot.

I walked into the kitchen and saw Carlos on his phone. He offered me a smile, which I returned. I went and sat across from him and pop my head in my hands. I watched as he spoke his native language, Spanish. I looked his features, Carlos is a good looking man. He has thick dark hair and dark brown eyes. He has a nice cheekbone structure. He is rather a good looking man, it's such a shame he isn't straight. I'd probably date him but of course, it would end bad, no one stays with me. Forever alone.

"Si, gracias." He said as he ended the call.

"Who was that?"

"That was Martin. He wants me to take a vacation and spend some time with him and his family so we can get to know them." He sighed. Martin was his French boyfriend. I've only met Martin three times since they started dating while I was away. But for the few times I've met him, I knew he was perfect for my best friend.

"Oh, then why don't you?" I asked. I really wanted him to take some time. He spent too much time at the dance studio.

"Well, I have the studio to think about," See. I smiled. "I have you to think about too. You being through,"

I cut him off with my hands. I lifted it up. "No. I'm an adult I can take care of myself and the dance studio will be found. Those little rug rats will be fine. You need to take a week off or maybe even two."

"But" he stuttered.

"But, nothing. You have me to help with the studio."

"NO, you're not ready to work as yet. You need rest." He stated.
