Mr George, Don't Be So Arrogant novel Chapter 12

Riley stared at Euan and Lydia as she smiled bitterly. She quickly changed her expression from sour to indifferent before someone else could see it.

Hendrix took a glass of wine from a waiter’s tray. He observed Riley’s reaction from afar.

He was shocked and confused to see how indifferent she was even after seeing her husband hugging another woman.

But his confusion only lasted for a few seconds. When he looked up again, he saw Riley storming towards Euan!

Hendrix put one hand on the food rack and held the wine glass with his other. He looked apathetic yet elegant.

He wanted to see what Riley was going to do.

The wound on Riley’s knee reopened and she could feel a sharp pain throughout her leg. The pain then spread towards her body. She felt like strangling Euan and Lydia to relieve her pain!

Euan and Lydia were surrounded by people and they didn’t notice Riley. The guests didn’t know who Riley was, but they let her through as she was emitting killing intent.

She didn’t want to just expose their adultery and thought of an idea to make the night more interesting.

Hendrix noticed that Riley turned away and left the crowd!

What was she planning to do?

In the midst of the crowd, Riley walked swiftly pass them and disappeared around a corner.

Euan who was surrounded by the crowd squinted his eyes. He thought he saw someone familiar just now. It felt more familiar the more he stared.

He wanted to look more clearly but he couldn’t see the person anymore.

Riley walked through the merry crowd and took a deep breath as she stood behind a Roman pillar. She lifted her skirt and noticed that the blood was seeping through the bandage on her knee. Her wound had worsened.

There were waitresses constantly walking pass the corridors next to her. Riley lowered her head and quickly walked towards the stairs. She avoided the surveillance camera and walked down one floor.

If she remembered correctly, this was the place.

And she was right. Riley smiled.

The brightly lit hall suddenly turned pitch black! All the lights went out!

Noises of glasses being shattered, and tables being overthrown could be heard. The guests were yelling, and the female guests were screaming. There was a huge commotion in the hall!

“Everyone, calm down! It’s just a power failure! Stay where you are and wait for the workers to fix the issue!”

“Don’t panic! Don’t panic!”

“Stay where you are! It’s just a temporary outage!”

The workers of the MBK Entertainment Center were yelling on the top of their lungs trying to calm the customers down. But the scene was already way too chaotic, there was at least a few hundreds of people in the hall and they were all howling at each other uncontrollably!

Some guests took out their phone and turned on the flashlight. The white floor was stained with wine and it was a mess. Shattered wine glasses were also all over the floor.

“Euan! Euan!”

Lydia hugged her arms around Euan’s neck amid the chaos. Euan glanced at her in the dark and calmly grasped her thin wrist. He then moved her arms away, “I’ll go see what’s up.”

Lydia didn’t think that Euan would abandon her like that, she was embarrassed and angry at the same time, “But Euan, I’m scared…”

Euan frowned, “Get out of the hall if you’re scared.”

“I…”

Just when Lydia was about to talk, Euan turned around and left, walking into the darkness.

Euan grimaced, he thought about the familiar figure he saw just now. Was that her?

Hendrix smiled brightly the moment the lights went out. He thought Riley was chickening out just now and was going to just take it, but she had a greater plan in mind.

Dr Watson, you were so cool!

Hendrix left the hall swiftly amid the chaos and went downstairs.

But Riley wasn’t outside of the control room. The control room was filled with workers trying to get things to work again.

“The wire was cut off, it’s going to be hard to reconnect it.”

“I don’t care how hard it is, just fix it! The guests today are important people, we cannot afford to offend them.”

“Okay, we’ll try our best.”

Hendrix smiled contently hearing the electrician’s conversation. Job well done, Riley.

Euan walked out the main building passing through the revolving glass door. He looked around searching for the “criminal”. He was glaring so hard, it was as if he could cut people into halves with that sharp gaze of his.

Outside the parking lot.

Riley stood in front of Euan’s black Roles-Royce. She crossed her arms and stood in front of the car. She then took out a lipstick from her bag and opened the lid slowly. After that, she started drawing in full seriousness on the windscreen…

Euan, you asshole. How dare you brought Lydia the wench to a public banquet?

Riley couldn’t tell if she was feeling anger or pain. The scene of Lydia lying in Euan’s arm kept emerging in her mind. Her heart ached as if something had sliced through her heart.

It wasn’t just pain that she felt, she also felt helpless.

She was his wife! His wife!

Suddenly, she heard clapping sound coming from yonder. She stopped drawing and looked up. It was Hendrix and he was lying against the car door.

“Riley, that was amazing. I respect you,” said Hendrix as he smirked. The expression on his handsome and young face was of a common smug look belonging to a rich young master.

Riley scoffed, “You’re not bad yourself. You found me here.”

Hendrix looked at the graffitied windscreen. He read the words out loud, “Asshole, give me back my money… Riley, well…What is this?”
