Chapter 1759
Felicity said, “My mom said the time you conceived was a very good day. She even told me to bring you and your child back to my hometown so that she can treat the fortune teller to a meal.”
Then, she continued in a somewhat dejected tone, “If you get an abortion, my mom is not going to have a chance to meet the child.”
Stella rubbed her temples, “Who said I’m going to get an abortion?”
“Didn’t you just tell Keegan you’re going to another hospital to get it done?”
Stella sighed, “I just wanted to make him angry.”
“What?”
Stella snorted, “He wanted to marry me just to get a divorce after the child is born. Who does he think I am? Am I just a baby machine to him?”
Felicity could not understand, “Stella, isn’t that what you wanted all along? Now that he’s willing to marry you, shouldn’t you be happy? Why would you say that to make him angry?”
“He’s only marrying me because of the child, not because he loves me!”
Felicity was puzzled, “Didn’t you do everything today just to let him know you’re pregnant so he’d want you back?”
“Yeah.” Stella put on her cap. “Even if that’s what I wanted, I’m not going to agree to what he suggested. I need to let him know that even if I have this child, I can still live without him. If he wants me to keep this child, he has to show me that he’s sincere about it.”
Felicity was about to say something, but the ward door was suddenly opened. She turned around and saw Keegan and Vermont standing there. Then, she immediately shut up and stepped aside.
Stella glanced at him and wore her socks without saying anything.
Keegan stood there. His lips moved, but he remained silent.
Vermont got nervous and almost kicked him, “Say something. Did you forget your lines?”
Keegan pursed his lips and asked, “Are you planning to get it done at another hospital?”
‘Fuck! What bullshit is he talking about?’
Stella lifted her gaze, “Keegan Kane, you want me to marry you, give birth to the child, and then have a divorce. So, let me ask you this. Who will the child belong to?”
Keegan answered, “You can take it with you if you want to raise it. I’ll pay you the expenses every month. If you don’t, I’ll still give you what you deserve.”
Stella chuckled and pointed to the door, saying, “Get out.”
Keegan was taken aback.
‘What did I say wrongly? Why is she mad again?’ Keegan thought to himself.
He looked at Vermont for help.
Vermont cleared his throat and said, “The purpose of getting married is to give the child a complete home. Why talk about divorcing? Both of you should be together till death do you apart.”
His words left Keegan utterly speechless.
