After she heard that, her hope that had been rekindled faded away again. She gently asked, “So, it was just an isolated incident?”

The doctor comforted, “It’s not certain. It’s a good sign that her eyeballs moved. But I can’t make a conclusion just because it happened once. After all, she had been in a coma for a very long time. You can continue to observe her and let us know if anything happens.”

Stella nodded, “Thank you.”

After the doctor left, Stella sat at the side of the bed and carefully looked at her mother for a long time.

Before she left, she gave the orderly some money. But, the orderly refused to take it. Stella said, “Just accept it. I don’t come here often. You’re the one who takes care of her here. I’ll feel bad if you don’t take it. Do promptly notify me if something happens to my mom in the future.”

“I’ll definitely do that. It’s my job.”

After hearing what Stella said, the orderly accepted the money.

When Stella got back to the apartment, Felicity was still awake. She was opening her WhatsApp group, and the television at the side was on. It was showing a variety show called The Sound of Film and Television.

“You’re back.”

Stella grunted. She then slumped on the soft couch. Her frayed nerves were finally relieved a little.

“Why do you look like shit? How’s Aunty Rainee?” ?р

“She’s fine for now.” Stella sighed, “But I didn’t get to divorce him.”

“What’s the big deal?” Felicity stuck a cherry into her mouth. “You can just reschedule.”

Stella was not as optimistic as her. ‘When I called Keegan in the afternoon, he sounded like he thought I intentionally bailed on him. He even thought I was trying to play hard to get again. We didn’t get to divorce today. I guess it’d be hard to reschedule with him for the divorce.‘

She had sent Keegan a message asking him if he was free tomorrow. But he did not reply to her. He probably just acted as though he did not see the message even if he did.

Just when she was still thinking about how to ask him out again, Felicity suddenly said, “Anyway, the two boxes of white truffles are still in the fridge. When are you planning to give them to him? I’m worried they’d go bad.”
