Chapter 2109
Stella swept her gaze across the three people before her and compared each of them to their submitted resumes.
The youngest applicant seemed to have experience driving for corporate leaders, and he spoke somewhat arrogantly.
Every time Stella asked a question, he would habitually add a sentence like "My former boss would...", which irritated her.
Then, she turned to the second applicant and asked him about his preferred working hours and if he had any salary requirements.
He revealed that his daily wage was above average, he was only willing to work eight hours a day, and he also requested that the company provide accommodation.
Stella was fine with his request, but there was one thing she was curious about.
“With such a high daily wage, why did you quit your last job?"
The second applicant was taken aback as he stuttered and said that he got bored of working at the same place and wanted to change jobs.
Stella glanced at the company where the second applicant previously worked and signaled for Xavier to come over.
She whispered a few words to him; he nodded and left the room with the documents.
He returned shortly after and said a few words to her.
She frowned, put his resume aside, and looked at the last applicant.
According to his resume, he was forty-five years old but appeared to be a bit older in person.
He was skinny with a very ordinary face that would melt back into the crowd the moment one looked away.
He wore an ill-fitted patched suit that he probably specially prepared for the interview.
However, he did not have a matching dress shirt inside.
Instead, he wore a dark gray round-neck sweater.
The collar was slightly wrinkled as if it had been worn for a long time.
His back and shoulders were hunched.
While the two other applicants were trying to showcase their abilities, he just stood there quietly.
Stella looked at his photo and then at the person before her and asked, “Larry Bard, you've been a taxi driver for nine years. Why stop?"
Larry lowered his chin and said in a low voice, "I'm getting older, and my family worries about me driving at night. They want me to find a more stable job."
“Are you from Rivera?"
"No, but I've been here for about thirty years now.I'm very familiar with the road here, Boss."
