After a few seconds of thought, Harper answered, "It’s a female assistant."

Madam Powell frowned. "A female assistant? Brooklyn never hired a female assistant before. I still remember that he told me that a female assistant will bring a lot of trouble. Why did he hire a female assistant?"

She put the teacup down and then rested her hands on her knees, Madam Powell gazed at Harper.

Though in her seventies, Madam Powell was energetic with dark and bright eyes. Harper broke out in a cold sweat since Madam Powell fixed her eyes on him.

"Doesn’t Brooklyn worry that his fiancee will lose her temper?" Madam Powell said gently.

She didn’t have a favorable impression of Mirabelle.

That girl looked gentle, graceful, well-behaved, pretty, and polite.

However, Madam Powell was no common woman. She was born and grew up in a rich and powerful family which helped her obtain a thorough understanding of snobbery in the upper class. Therefore, she was very clear that Mirabelle’s nature was not the same as how she presented herself.

Brooklyn was Madam Powell’s only grandson, so his insomnia had always worried Madam Powell sick.

All famous doctors in Sliwell failed to relieve Brooklyn’s insomnia. Mirabelle was the only one that could help Brooklyn suffer less from insomnia. That was why Madam Powell turned a blind eye to their marriage. After all, since Brooklyn was in charge of the Powell Group, he would not allow Mirabelle to do anything against the interests of the Powell Group.

Harper nodded and told Madam Powell about what had happened between Diana and Ashley.

"Anna does stand out in terms of the capacity to make perfumes. Otherwise, Mr. Powell would not have let her stay. She contributed a lot to the cooperation between the Powell Group and the Hillvie. What’s more, all perfumers in the company appreciated her skill of making perfumes."
