Mr. Villain's Lovely Wife (Izzy) novel Chapter 212

Olivier’s Feelings 2

Olivier Horvath sat in a private lounge inside the executive wing of the Horvath Holdings corporate tower. The skyline of downtown New York stretched behind him. through floortoceiling windows, but he wasn’t paying attention to the view.

Across from him sat Klaus Reinhardta board member for nearly two decades, known for being both practical and dangerously flexible when the numbers worked in his favor. Olivier poured a finger of whiskey into Klaus’s glass before settling back into his

own seat.

I’ll get straight to it,Olivier began, crossing one leg over the other. This entire transition plan my father draftedit’s flawed. Temporary control in the hands of someone who’s never been involved in this business? That’s reckless.

Klaus took a slow sip. “He’s your son.”

And I’m his,” Olivier replied quickly. But only one of us has been running the dayto- day operations of this empire for the last fifteen years. I’m the one who sat through every earnings call, every regulatory review, every acquisition. Liam chose to build a startup and throw punches from the sidelines.”

Klaus leaned forward slightly. You think he’ll fail?

don’t think I know,” Olivier said. Liam might be sharp, but sharp doesn’t make you stable. Horvath Holdings needs more than a clever executive. It needs continuity. It needs someone who understands the layers behind each division. My father did. And so do I.

Klaus didn’t argue. He waited.

Olivier reached into his briefcase and pulled out a small folder. He set it on the table between them.

What’s that?Klaus asked.

An opportunity,Olivier said. Alabama. A biomass energy venture. We’ve been developing it quietly under one of my subsidiaries. If it hits benchmarks by Q3, it’s set to draw a major federal subsidy. We’re talking about a 40% ROI in less than eighteen months.”

Klaus opened the folder and/scanned the summary. Who’s backing this?

Privately funded for now,” Olivier replied. But once I have controlling votes on the board, it gets folded into the Horvath green tech division. You’ll get in on the ground floor. Five percent equity in the venture. No dilution. Locked in.

Klaus narrowed his eyes slightly. And in exchange?

A vote,” Olivier said. Tomorrow. You motion to pause all decisions made by Liam. under the temporary proxy authority. We open a review into the legitimacy of the documentsstandard audit protocol. If we get six votes, it buys me time.

Klaus didn’t respond right away. He looked at the folder again.

Olivier leaned in. Klaus, we’re not talking about destroying Liam. We’re talking about protecting the company from instability. From emotional decisions. From someone whose wife is in critical condition and who’s juggling two companies during a family crisis. He’s compromised.

His wife?Klaus asked. I didn’t know Liam Horvath is even married.

He had been private about his affairs butsomeone targeted her. She barely survived a crash,Olivier said, keeping his expression unreadable. “He’s distracted. His decisions will be emotional. Not strategic.

Klaus closed the folder. You always were better at this than people gave you credit for.

Olivier smiled faintly. Then let’s prove them right.

Klaus nodded once. I’ll think about it.

No need,Olivier said, standing. You already know what makes sense.”

He offered his hand.

Klaus shook it.

See you at ten,Olivier added. Then he turned and walked toward the elevator, already dialing his next call. There were five more names on his list, and he only needed four.

Not long after, Olivier was once again in front of another board member.

What he didn’t know was that when Klause returned to his office, someone was already waiting for him.

Klaus Reinhardt returned to his office on the fortysecond floor, expecting silence and the usual stack of overnight reports. Instead, he was met at the door by his secretary,

Helene.

There’s someone waiting for you, sir,she said, lowering her voice slightly. She insisted it’s a personal matter.

Klaus frowned. Who?

Helene opened the door to his office without answering. Klaus stepped inside and immediately saw her.

A young woman sat on the leather chair across from his desk. Her posture was composed, her hands resting lightly on her lap. Her head was bandaged just above her right brow, the gauze peeking through beneath her dark hair.

She stood as he entered

Mr. Reinhardt,” she greeted. Thank you for making time.”

Klaus offered a polite nod. Miss?

Isabella Rossi.

The name made him pause. He knew the Rossi

tech, luxury, some venture capital. He had no ties to them, but they had weight. Still, her presence here was unexpected.

To what do I owe the pleasure?he asked, stepping around to his chair. He gave a brief glance toward the bandage but didn’t comment on it. “If this is about business-It’s not,” she said. I’m not here on behalf of Rossi Group. And I’d appreciate it if this meeting stayed between us.”

He raised an eyebrow but didn’t object.

I’m here for personal reasons,” Isabella continued. She sat back down and crossed one leg over the other. Off the record.

Klaus leaned back in his chair, observing her. “You understand how unusual this is.

I do.”

He tapped the edge of his desk once, then folded his hands. Alright then. Personal business. Let’s hear it.

Isabella smiled. Despite Liam’s words, she forced Mondo and the rest to clear her. In fact, Izzy knew that Liam wanted her to stay in that place because he wanted her to be safe from whoever it was that was trying to hurt her.

But Izzy didn’t have the time. She wished she could just continue staying in that place and hide, but the world would continue moving even without her. Without batting an eyelid, she handed the old man a tablet.

Klaus Reinhardt took the tablet from Isabella’s hands without a word and began reading.

The room fell quiet except for the soft hum of the central air and the occasional swipe of his finger across the screen. He scrolled slowly at first, then faster as the contents became more dense. Spreadsheets. Transaction records. Email screenshots. Internal memos. Names. Dates. Timelines.

His frown deepened.

He paused in one particular section. Then went back and read it again.
