Mr. Williams Wants His Ex-Wife Back novel Chapter 101

Hearing the door open, Adam turned around and looked at Rebecca.

When Rebecca met his eyes, she averted her face wordlessly. Then she closed the door and changed her shoes.

"Hey, I have the nanny prepare food for you. It's in the kitchen. Go heat it up," Linda turned and said to Rebecca with a grin.

Rebecca glanced at her and said faintly, "I've eaten. Thank you."

"Oh, okay." Linda pursed her lips and thought for a moment before continuing, "The dishes the nanny cooked today are not as delicious as those you cooked. I didn't know your cooking is so good, even better than the professional. So, could you cook me some supper? I'm hungry."

Rebecca's hand on her shoes stilled slightly before she nodded. "Okay, what would you like to have?" She asked.

"Well, I..."

"Don't bother. You can leave," Adam interrupted Linda and said to Rebecca. He'd been talking on the phone by the picture window. Under Linda's aggrieved eyes, he strode to her and said, "What do you want to eat? Let's eat out."

"But it's late." Linda was reluctant.

"Then we'll eat somewhere nearby," Adam insisted. Both his voice and face were gentle, but in his eyes which had turned deeper and deeper these days, there was no affection any longer.

"Okay, then."

Rebecca gave them a silent glance and then went back to her room.

[...]

"Adam, are you in love with Rebecca?"

On the way out, Linda considered Adam's expressionless face when he focused on the road ahead and asked that question.
