Mr. Williams Wants His Ex-Wife Back novel Chapter 224

Could it be that he had been following behind her and Arthur, and had heard their conversation just now?

Looking at Rebecca, Adam walked over and took off his leather jacket to put it on her.

Rebecca took a step away and refused, "I'm not cold."

"Put it on, in case you catch a cold." Adam insisted and draped his leather jacket over her body.

Rebecca did not say thank you, nor did she refuse again.

"I know. You don't want to hurt dad. After a while, I'll tell him myself." Looking at Rebecca, Adam said in a low and hoarse voice.

Sure enough, Adam heard everything.

Looking at him, Rebecca asked directly, "How long will it take?"

Adam frowned and lowered his head. In the dim light, there was a trace of sadness between his eyes. He said in a low voice, "I don't know. Maybe one month, maybe two months, maybe half a year, or longer."

"You..."

"Buzz - Buzz -"

Before Rebecca could say something, Adam's phone vibrated in his leather jacket. Rebecca stopped and took it out.

She didn't want to see it, but she easily saw the caller ID on the screen.

It was Linda.

"It's for you." She handed the phone to Adam.

He looked at the phone handed over by Rebecca. His brows furrowed slightly, and his eyes darkened. His hands hanging beside him clenched and then released. After hesitating for about six or seven seconds, he took his phone and answered it.

"Adam, my belly is uncomfortable. Can you come back to me?" The phone was connected, and Linda said weakly and softly.

"There's a nanny here," Adam said coldly.

"Adam,..." Immediately, Linda began to cry. "You haven't seen me for two months. Are you going to leave me and our child?"

He frowned again when he heard the crying.

Two months ago, Linda told him that she was pregnant again. After taking her to the hospital, he never saw her again. He just hired a nanny and a bodyguard to take care of her.

Rebecca was not in the mood to listen to their conversation. She took off the jacket he had draped over her shoulder and put it on the stone bench beside her. Then, she turned around and left.

Seeing that Rebecca was about to leave, Adam reached out almost instinctively. He grabbed her wrist, and said to Linda on the phone, "I have something else to do. I've got to go now."
