Rebecca glanced at Adam faintly. She moved her gaze away after her eyes met Adam's. She nodded and said yes to Linda and then walked away. She took the cold dishes from the table and went to heat them again.

Adam sat there, fixing his eyes on Rebecca's back. He felt terrible about it. But he didn't know how to tell Rebecca that he would take care of the dishes.

All the words he wanted to say were stuck in his throat, and he could never tell her a word.

"Adam, I drew a new painting today. Please come and take a look for me." Seeing that Adam was staring at Rebecca's back, Linda quickly went to distract him.

Rebecca was fast. It took her no time to heat three dishes and some soup.

"Rebecca, I want to have a bowl of soup first. Could you help me with it?" Just as Rebecca brought the hot dishes back to the table and was about to go back to her room, Linda took Adam back to the dining room and stopped her.

Rebecca didn't even look at her. She said yes and prepared to go to pour two bowls of soup for them.

"Don't worry about it, Rebecca! I'll do it." Unexpectedly, Adam came over to get the bowl from Rebecca.

However, Rebecca avoided his hand and refused to look at him. "It's okay. I can do it."

"Adam." Linda pursed her lips and walked over with an apologetic look when she saw Adam walking toward Rebecca. She reached for Adam's arm and said apologetically. "I'm sorry. I'm too used to being taken care of. I'll learn to do these kinds of stuff slowly. I won't bother Rebecca in the future."
