Chapter 824 Don’t interfere in my affairs

While Hayley and Mrs. Gibson discussed what to do next, the internet was buzzing with theories and accusations about what was going on.

Melissa did not take any public relations measures since she already distanced herself from Hayley. All Hayley could do was hide as much as possible. Hiding didn’t matter as she had been doxed and all her information was out on the internet.

Some people thought it was fake while others turned their attention to Melissa and Star Entertainment. How could they have been fooled by this woman? Clearly, her innocence was all fake. Or perhaps Melissa assisted her and was letting her take the fall.

Melissa sat in her office watching the discussion and had no intention of clearing the air.

“You’re still not going to make a statement?” Shayna asked.

Melissa shook her head and said, “Do you think I need to? Hayley should’ve listened to me in the first place. Her arrogance got her in this position. She got herself into this mess. She can get herself out of it. Hopefully, she’ll learn her lesson and not make this worse.”

“I agree as long as it doesn’t endanger the company,” Shayna said. She didn’t have any work to do and accompanied Melissa to the company.

“Are they scared? They don’t dare to respond. Maybe this isn’t Hayley’s fault,”

The discussion switched to Melissa. People began berating her and dragging her name through the mud. However, Melissa still did not care.

“Boss, the reporter from the newspaper wants to see you,” the assistant said.

“Fine. I will meet him in the conference room,”

The assistant arranged the meeting and Shayna and Melissa waited for the reporter.

The person who came was not an ordinary reporter, but the editor- in-chief of the newspaper.

Melissa sighed inwardly. Had the situation affected the editor-in- chief? Perhaps this was starting to get out of control.

“I thought I would be speaking with one of your reporters. I didn’t expect you to come here in person,” Melissa stated as she greeted him. The editor-in-chief just smiled faintly and looked at Melissa, “I thought it was necessary that I came in person.”

Melissa asked directly, “What do you want to know about the situation since I am sure you are here because of Hayley?”

The corner of the editor-in-chief’s mouth twitched slightly, revealing a smile, “Since Ms. Eugen is so straightforward, then I will be as well.”
