Chapter 890 Charity in the Snow

“Don’t worry, the child will be fine,” Tom whispered to Nina who was sitting on a bench.

His voice drew her back to reality and she looked up at him smiling.

“I can’t believe you saved our family, I haven’t said thank you to you yet.”

“Don’t worry. You don’t need to thank anyone,” Tom replied.

Hearing his words, Nina didn’t know what to say, so she just nodded and continued to focus on her daughter.

Not long after, Kasen Paul and Ariana were pushed out of the operating room by a nurse.

“Mom and Dada!” Nina screamed, running towards them with True Paul in her arms.

The surgery went well but Kasen Paul and Ariana were asked to spend a little more time at the hospital so they could be helped to fully recover from their injuries. After exchanging pleasantries with Nina, the couple two returned to the ward.

After being sure her parents were okay, Nina knew she had to finalize their hospitalisation procedures. She was about to carry her daughter downstairs to book a ward when she saw Tom standing in front of the elevator door as soon as she stepped out to the corridor.

“Are your parents okay?” Tom asked. He was afraid of what Kasen Paul’s reaction would be if he saw him, so the former had kept his distance.

Now Nina could smile. “My parents need to be hospitalized, I will go downstairs and go through the hospitalization procedures.”

“I’ll go with you,” Tom offered, trailing behind her.

Nina thought for a while, considering that it was inconvenient for her to run up and down with the child. So she nodded with the conviction that Tom could help out in some way. It turned out, with the help of Tom, the hospitalization process was indeed completed quickly.

The two then came back to the door of Kasen Paul’s ward, with the child being rocked in Tom’s arms while Nina went in to persuade her parents to rest early. A few minutes later, Nina came back to the corridor, only to be surprised by the sight of Tom humming a nursery rhyme.

“True Paul has a fever, right?” She asked, joining him on the bench.

“Well, yes. I felt her shiver a little when I touched her head.” Tom handed the child back to Nina as he spoke.

After a while of not-so-awkward silence between the two of them,

Nina began to notice that it was getting late.

“Tom, you can go back to rest now. I can take care of my parents myself,” Nina asked.

“How do you plan on doing that when you need help?” Nina wanted to argue but she could tell he had a point. “Whether we are lovers or friends, I think I must protect you, so I can’t leave you at this time when you need me the most.” His tone was serious and he spoke without holding back.

“But you also have your job, and you will have to go to work tomorrow!” Nina protested.

“No, I already quit my job,” Tom replied with a casual tone.

“What?!”
