Connor hung his head. At this moment, his conscience was gnawing at him like thousands of ants. Olivia chimed in, “That’s right, Ellie! Have you forgotten our kindness in fostering you back then? You and your brother stayed with us for a year after your parents died, no?”

“Mom, what’s the point of you trying to reason with her? She’s nothing but an ingrate!” Selena said with a snort. Jared was astonished; he had never seen such a shameless family before.
