“I went away in a hurry last time and didn’t tell you. I’m back at my family’s place, dealing with some business. I can’t see you for now.”
“Don’t worry about it. You do what you have to. We can meet when you have time.” Harmony would not complain now.
“Is work hard on you?”
“It’s alright. Everyone’s patient with me, and we get along well,” said Harmony. She knew that she only was treated well not because of her abilities but because she had ties with Ezekiel. One of the crew members waved at her, and her heart squeezed up. Time for another scene. Reluctantly, she said, “I have to go now, Mr. Weiss. Another scene is coming up.”
“Talk to you next time,” Ezekiel said swiftly.
“Talk later.” Harmony was reluctant to go. She didn’t hang up, hoping he would talk more, but he hung up, thinking she had ended the call. Harmony bit her lip and smiled bitterly. What was I thinking? He gave me a perfect chance. I should seize it instead of fantasizing about impossible stuff.
After work was done for the day, Harmony went back to the hotel. She held her phone throughout the way, yet she didn’t have the courage to disturb Ezekiel.
Sera saw through her, and she huddled closer.
“Harmony, listen to me. He helped us mostly because he has high hopes for you, but that doesn’t mean he likes you romantically. Make that clear.”
Harmony knew what Sera was trying to say, and she blushed. Fortunately, the car was dark. She said earnestly, “Sera, I know. I wasn’t thinking about that.”
