Chapter 10 Her Hand Pressed at the Spot Between His Thigs
Before Kendrick could speak, Natalie continued, "Don't always reject me. It'll make me look bad."
Since the day Natalie opened her eyes to this world, Kendrick had rejected her countless times.
Natalie realized that she had to be persistent for Kendrick to agree to her requests.
Natalie had no love experience. However, non of her seniors from the lab would refuse her.
As Natalie finished speaking, she pushed the wheelchair toward the bed and said, "I'm married to you as your wife, and I must also fulfill my duty. You don't have to be courteous with me anymore and can just ask for my help if required. Now, how can I help you?"
"Hold my arm."
"Oh, okay."
Kendrick pressed his hands on the bed and used strength to move himself from the wheelchair to the bed.
Although Kendrick's lower limbs were paralyzed and weak, he was still strong in general.
As the dim indoor light falls on Kendrick, the lustrous dark blue silk pajama that Kendrick wore was shining. His bangs lay on his forehead, and he was really handsome. His sharp and cold aura was weakened as he lay on the bed, making him seem more gentle and casual. He looked like a stunning god who just came out of a comic.
Natalie was stunned by the view in front of her.
Until, Kendrick noticed her gaze and raised his eyes.
Natalie came back to her senses and hurriedly let go of her hands. She took a step back but accidentally tripped onto Kendrick's wheelchair. Her body was unstable, and she fell forward. She tried to support herself, but her hands ended up pressing... the spot between his thighs!
Almost touching a sensitive area.
Sometimes, some coincidences always seemed like a long-planned plan.
Natalie was embarrassed and wanted to withdraw her hand when she wasn't yet standing straight. As a result, she lost her balance. So, she had no choice but to support herself by pressing Kendrick's thigh to stand up.
Kendrick fixed his black eyes on Natalie. His gaze was extremely probing.
Kendrick thought to himself, "She may seem intelligent and bossy, but sometimes she can be quite innocent."
Kendrick thought Natalie was using advanced means to tease him although being inexperienced.
Kendrick couldn't understand Natalie's sudden change of attitude towards him.
Natalie blushed at Kendrick's stare. This time, she really didn't mean it.
It was an unintentional move.
Fortunately, she didn't hit the key part.
Otherwise, it would be a deadly awkward situation.
"Good night. I'm going to sleep."
Natalie was awkward. So, she hurriedly said goodnight and ran away.
Kendrick lay down on the bed. A while later, he sat up again and took the book on his bedside, New Advances in Human Behavior Research.
...
Natalie went back to her room and threw herself on the bed.
She covered her face with her hands as she recalled what had happened.
Without any actual experience and facing a cold man like Kendrick, it seemed that non of her tactics were working.
Natalie buried herself under the covers.
Her mind was messy.
Natalie couldn't remember clearly the main plot of the original story. Moreover, the story timeline would only start two years later.
There were very few subplot descriptions of Kendrick.
However, when Kendrick first appeared in the story, he was already an important role that couldn't be underestimated. He never bothered to show respect to the male protagonist.
According to the book's description, Kendrick should be permanently disabled and need to rely on a wheelchair to move.
Natalie was in a melancholy mood.
She suddenly missed her teacher, Easton.
"Is that bad-tempered old man in good health?" Natalie thought to herself. Easton was previously diagnosed with stomach disease due to his busy schedule traveling around for surgeries. No one could remind him to eat well anymore since Natalie was no longer there with him.
And also Violet.
"Has Violet returned from her trip?" Natalie wondered.
Violet was Easton's biological daughter, but she had no interest in studying medicine. She liked to travel and would often travel around the world and disappear for a while. However, whenever she returned, she would always mysteriously say that she was on a mission.
Natalie was an orphan adopted by the Wright family when she was a child. Both Easton and Violet treated her well. Especially, Violet would share all the good things with Natalie.
Compared to the sisters from the Quinn family, Violet was like an angel.
Natalie fell into a deep sleep as she recalled the memories of her past life.
