Chapter 6 Picked it Up 

Nora first thought that Natalie was talking nonsense, but when she noticed the sarcasm hidden under Natalie's gentle face, she realized that Natalie was satirizing them, so she couldn't help saying to Reuben,"Reuben, your daughter..." 

"Nigel, give me the gift." Kendrick interrupted her. 

Nigel handed the gift to Kendrick, and then Kendrick handed it to Reuben respectfully, with his face slightly raised, "This is Fish and Bird painted by Pierce Blake. I heard that Mr. Quinn was fond of Mr. Blake's paintings, so I gave it as a gift for your birthday." 

Reuben was arty and loved to collect famous paintings. 

The fifty-year-old middle-aged man was stunned and it took him a long time to calm down, "Is it Pierce Blake's original painting? That's expensive!" 

There was an imperceptible disgust in Kendrick's eyes, but his voice was still gentle, "I bought it from Mr. Blake's grandson. The price cannot compare to my respect for you." 

"Yes." Reuben was happy, "Thank you so much, Kendrick. I will immediately frame it and hung it in my study. The dinner will start in an hour, please wait for a while." 

Nigel said, "Mr. Quinn, my boss still has a lot of work to do. He especially took some time out to congratulate you at your birthday banquet. But there are so many guests, and we need to leave now. My boss will arrange another time when he's free. He also wants to appreciate some paintings with you." 

“So?” Reuben was totally attracted by the sky-high Fish and Bird, and he didn't even understand Nigel's rejection. 

Kendrick had already turned around and was ready to leave. 

Reuben didn't dare to stop him, and hurriedly said,"Then... Nat, you stay here. It's not easy for all of us to gather together." 

It was Reuben's birthday, and he would lose face if his daughter and son-in-law were both absent. 

What's more, Kendrick's status in the business world had improved significantly compared to a year ago when he married Natalie.

Natalie smiled and said, "Okay, I'll stay here." 

Kendrick put his hand on the wheelchair and didn't say anything. 

"Darling!" Natalie suddenly turned to smile at Kendrick. She pushed his wheelchair and said, "I'll take you to the car first!" 

After speaking, Natalie immediately walked forward before Nigel could react. 

She couldn't be discouraged and felt lost. 

Everything she wanted must be gained by herself. 

Nigel was terrified, and hurriedly followed, grabbing one side of the wheelchair. 

"I'll send Mr. Ramsey to the car, Mrs. Ramsey." 

"Let me do it!" 

Natalie said firmly, "You pushed him when we came here, and I will push the wheelchair when you go back. That will be fair!" 

Nigel thought, "Is this a game? why we need to be fair?" 

Natalie continued, "Nigel, I'm Kendrick's wife, and I should take on my own responsibility to take care of him. I have troubled you when I was not around, but you can leave it to me when I am here now!" 

Nigel didn't know what to say. 

What's wrong with her? 

She's unusual today! 

Kendrick stretched out his hand and rubbed the center of his eyebrows, "Can I go?" 

"Let's go now." Natalie pursed her lips, feeling instantly happy. 

Natalie pushed Kendrick's wheelchair, walking cautiously. 

Nigel was trembling at the side, but seeing that Natalie didn't seem to have any bad intentions, she felt relaxed. 

"I'll ask the driver to pick you up later." Kendrick said, "You can just call him at any time." 

"Okay." Natalie responded obediently, "I will also be obedient here, and I'll go back after dinner."
