Yves stared at Byron for a long time, then confirmed that the gratitude on his face did not seem to be fake. His heart was slightly moved, and he could not help but blurt out his next words.
"What is the relationship between you and Dr. Jacobs now?"
Byron could not help but remember the sarcastic remarks Yves had made to him when he first walked through the door.
He was so worried about the little woman that he had even put those words to the back of his mind.
Now that he heard Yves' question, it came back to him.
He wrinkled his eyebrows and told the truth, but his words were not tit for tat. "As you can imagine, we are together now. I have proposed to her, and when she wakes up, we will get married!"
Rosalie had not yet agreed—she will probably even refuse.
However, Byron would do everything he can to get her to say yes.
He did not want to go through the pain of losing her again!
Hearing these words, a look of shock crossed Yves' eyes.
When he thought of Byron's attitude just now, he was slowly relieved, though there was a hint of bitterness on his face. "I should have expected that. Among us, the most likely person to get together with her is you."
Both he and Xander knew that Rosalie's mind was not that simple.
Only Byron was special to her.
The man in front of him had enough wealth and power.
His love for Rosalie was the real thing and he wanted nothing else.
Faced with his change of attitude, Byron was a bit puzzled, standing still and looking at him.
Yves lowered his eyes in frustration. "I could feel that all along, Dr. Jacobs cares for you, only she refused to admit it. I, too, chose to deceive myself. It was you she actually loved all along, six years ago, and even now..."
Six years ago?
