Rosalie was still awake when Byron returned to the hospital.
He quickened his pace when he saw the bright lights in the ward.
"Why aren’t you resting?" With a little worry in his eyes, he looked at the woman on the hospital bed who was lost in her thoughts.
Rosalie came back to her senses upon hearing his voice. She pursed her lips and smiled. "I've been sleeping for three to four days straight. I can't sleep anymore."
Then, she asked about the children, "How are the kids? Are they asleep?"
Byron said, "I came here only after I made sure they were asleep."
Rosalie felt relieved. Her heart ached as she looked at him. "You look almost as bad as me. You should’ve slept well at home tonight."
For those who were unaware, one might think Byron was the one who was critically ill, judging from the look on his face.
He heard this, subconsciously wiped his face, and frowned indifferently. "I’ve had several sleepless nights before over some business discussions in the past. This isn’t a big deal."
He went to the hospital bed and sat down, looking at the woman in front of him with a soft gaze. "Besides, you’re still in the hospital. How can I leave you alone? Even if I dare, the kids won’t spare me."
Rosalie looked at him puzzled, wondering what this had to do with the kids.
With a deep smile, Byron told her what the little boy said in the car just now.
Rosalie's heart softened to know that the little one defended her so much. "I was afraid they would be frightened to find out, but I never expected..."
Then, she smiled and looked at Byron mid-sentence. "Not only are they unafraid, but they’re confident because you’re here."
