“Mr. Quirke, it’s good to see you.”
As soon as he entered, Mrs. Zora greeted him, but she looked worried. “Little Lady and the little masters are upstairs. I don’t know what happened these two days, but the kids have been in a bad mood because Sir and Mrs. Lawrence haven’t returned home.”
Andrius knew what she did not know.
After hearing this, he looked upstairs and felt distressed. He could not think of an excuse that could make them feel better.
However, the clock was ticking, and he had no time to hesitate.
Andrius nodded at Mrs. Zora. “I’ll go upstairs and take a look.”
Mrs. Zora nodded.
Andrius walked upstairs.
The three little ones were sitting dejectedly in the bedroom.
“Lucian, I’m afraid.”
Estelle looked at Lucian like a frightened little animal. “What’s happening to Mommy? Why isn’t she back home yet?”
Lucian frowned and appeased her in his cute voice. “Don’t be afraid. Mommy said she just has a fever, and Daddy will take good care of Mommy. Don’t you trust Daddy?”
Estelle and Nox hesitated.
Of course, they believed Daddy, but...
Mommy did not look like she only suffered from a fever. Moreover, they had lost contact with her for a few days before this…
Looking at his worried brother and sister, Lucian pursed his lips as he pondered.
He had promised Daddy that he would take good care of his brother and sister, physically and emotionally!
A knock came on the door when he was pondering.
