Andrius had some idea of the situation judging from his sister’s reaction.
‘What's that man’s purpose?
‘He's obviously against the Lawrence family. It was clear when he assisted that fugitive Wendy by smuggling her abroad, but this time, he hired Old Master Loewe to cure Rosalie?’
Every action of his was contradictory and strange. He could not figure it out.
Andrea held back for a long time as she faced her brother’s imposing aura. Her face was resentful. "What purpose can he have? You were always the golden boy of the Quirke family, trained to be the successor since young. As for me, no one has ever given me a chance. In the eyes of others, am I just an arrogant and wilful young lady? Am I not worthy of having an ambition of my own?"
Andrea became more emotional as she spoke. "Brother, listen. I'm also your competitor from today onward. Besides, I’m unlike you, who'll only take orders from the Lawrences in everything!"
Those words made all that Andrius had suppressed within him blow up.
"The Lawrences have never been bad to us. They're even quite generous to us. What's stupid is to treat the Lawrence family as an enemy. Moreover, Byron would definitely credit our family for inviting Old Master Loewe. I'd share any benefits with you."
After that, Andrius coldly left the house.
Behind him, Andrea's expression changed. Her eyes dimmed.
...
In Lawrence Manor, Byron was working on his laptop. Work had piled up after several days of absence.
Although Luther could handle most of the matters, there were still some agreements and contracts that needed to be personally reviewed and signed by him.
Rosalie noticed the man was deeply immersed in work. She brewed a cup of hot tea and brought it over without disturbing him.
There was a smile in her eyes. The man glanced up, and the corners of his mouth could not help but curl upward too.
"The poison in your body hasn't completely dissipated. You should focus on resting and recovering. Don't worry about me. You can go to bed first," Byron took a sip of tea and whispered.
