Chapter 1911
She arrived at the hotel and went straight to Gordon’s room.
Rosalie was prepared with her words and also anticipated their possible requests.
However, the moment Gordon opened the door, Rosalie was slightly startled.
‘Is this man in front of me my father?’
Compared to six years ago, the man had become a lot thinner. His face no longer glowed like before but had become shriveled and sallow. His forehead was covered with wrinkles.
His hair also became very short, probably because there were more grays than before.
“Rosalie?” Gordon’s eyes showed excitement.
They had not met for so many years. She would not know if the emotions were genuine either.
Immediately, his gaze turned a little timid. He looked at Byron and nodded. “Hello, Mr. Lawrence.”
“Hello, Mr. Jacobs.” Byron’s attitude was a little cold. He just glanced at the man briefly, then turned away to look at his wife.
Rosalie suddenly felt a lot calmer when she saw how humble her father was.
Immediately, Violet came over. She was surprised when she saw Rosalie.
She was surprised entirely because Rosalie’s outfit and appearance now displayed an air of elegance.
This aura made her feel ashamed, then faintly jealous.
Of course, her face immediately morphed into a look of joy.” Rosalie, it’s you. What a huge difference! You’ve become even more elegant. I’m sorry, your dad and I have been running around all the time. We’ve only just found out about your marriage, so we quickly got here!”
She quickly tugged at Gordon. “What are you doing, blocking the door? Quick, let our daughter and son-in-law in!”
Rosalie had to admire the speed at which Violet changed her expression.
In the end, he sent her to the Lawrences for a sum of money and made her marry Byron for the sake of cheering up the patriarch of the Lawrence family who had fallen ill.
‘At that time, I wouldn’t have agreed if it wasn’t because I had long been in love with Byron.’
Thinking of all this, Rosalie could not get rid of her anger and resentment.
She could not care less about Gordon’s pitiful posture. Deep down, she just did not want to have anything to do with them.
“Madam Curtan, you can’t call us that. I’m not your biological daughter. You know this better than me.”
Rosalie outright rejected Violet for addressing them as her daughter and son-in-law.
Immediately, Violet’s face froze. Then, she smiled sarcastically. “Oh, yes, yes. It was just a passing statement. Come and have a sit. You’re getting married tomorrow. Of course, I’m delighted for you.”
Byron could not help but sig inside watching the woman’ swift reaction. ‘Wow, how shameless!’
