Chapter 62 Urging You To Get Married
“Dad, Mom, why are you here?” Byron frowned as he asked.
Hearing this, Mrs. Lawrence, Melody, who had been worriedly checking if her little granddaughter was injured, rebuked, “I heard that my sweetheart went missing early in the morning. Shouldn‘t I be worried? I was so scared that I quickly pulled your father to come over here to have a look. Also, how could you not have told us about something so huge?!” Byron was speechless.
“Estie, tell me, where did you run off to?” Melody had confirmed that she was not hurt before pulling her into her arms affectionately. “How could you run off on your own when you‘re still so young? You scared me. You can‘t do this in the future, okay?” she said with concern.
Wendy also added, “If there’s anything you’re unhappy about, you can come and tell me. Don‘t run away without a word. Your grandparents were worried about you. I was also ready to head out and search for you. Fortunately, you‘re back!”
Estie, who was being held in her grandmother‘s arms, showed a cold expression when she heard this. She gave no response.
Byron knew that the little girl did not like this kind of atmosphere. He walked forward as if nothing had happened and took her from his mother‘s arms. He calmly said, “She‘s very smart. She didn‘t run too far, so you don‘t have to worry.“,
Estie hugged her daddy‘s neck and buried her head into his shoulder.
Melody looked at her little granddaughter and felt distressed. She turned to her son and complained, “I think it‘s because you’ve been neglecting Estie from working all day. If you get married sooner, you‘ll have someone to take care of her. Estie won‘t be so lonely. She won‘t be thinking about running away from home all day!”
Hearing this, Byron frowned slightly. He was able to tell that his mother was going to urge him to get married again, so he immediately promised, “I‘ll try not to go out on weekends and stay at home with her in the future. I didn‘t plan to go out today, but there was an emergency in the company and I had to go.”
Melody did not manage to achieve her goal, so she simply went straight to the point, “Don‘t act stupid with me. When are you going to settle your marriage with Wendy? Wendy has been with you for six years. A woman doesn‘t have that much time. Don‘t you feel bad for her?”
