Ashlyn's cool voice rang out again, “After all, we're not exactly short on money.”
Such a commanding aura! What a bada*s!
The team members were once again left astounded by Ashlyn.
“Boss, you're so impressive!” Trevor said with a grin as he looked at Ashlyn. “After all these years, you're still as awesome as ever! Which midsolo hero did you use when you won the world championship three years ago? Was it Vegar?”
“Hmm. You have a good memory.” Ashlyn nodded.
“Back then, many people followed the trend and played Vegar excessively... They were practically overusing the hero.” Bruce couldn't help but chime in, “Boss, you've always been so amazing.”
There are hardly any female professional players in Heroes' League Games. Although there are some female commentators, when it comes to competing professionally... it seems like Ashlyn is the only one.
“Well... Boss is not just the king of esports, she knows so much more. She even cured my grandpa's illness recently.” The pride in Trevor's voice was almost palpable.
Just then, Lucas's phone rang.
Sabrina's anxious voice could be heard coming from the other side, saying, “Mr. Nolan, something bad happened. Mr. Lester suddenly fainted.”
Frowning, Lucas asked in a low voice, “Has he not been taking his medication recently?”
“I have no idea. He was conducting an experiment in the lab when he suddenly collapsed. We're on our way to the hospital now,” Sabrina explained with increasing urgency.
“All right, I got it. I'll head over immediately.” Lucas ended the call and turned to Ashlyn. “I need to take my leave now. Something urgent has come up.”
Ashlyn nodded. “What happened?”
“An elder fell ill, so I need to head there first. Once you're done with the meal, I'll have Silas take you home,” Lucas explained before leaving with Spencer.
With a grim expression on his face, Lucas' hastily retreating figure soon disappeared from view.
