Chapter 1071
For the three hours she couldn’t reach Skylar, Natalie was on the verge of calling the police. She was terrified that Skylar might do something drastic.
Too many girls were getting caught up in their feelings and doing foolish things these days.
Skylar couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m fine. The news about Joe and Lizzie getting engaged isn’t what it seems. Joe and I are doing well. We haven’t divorced.
She noticed Joe watching her intently.
She added, “We also don’t plan to divorce.”
“What?” Natalie was clearly confused by Skylar’s words. “What’s going on?”
Skylar replied, “I’ll come see you tomorrow and explain everything. You don’t need to worry about me, and don’t believe what you read online.”
Natalie remained puzzled. “Okay, as long as you’re fine. But you have to tell me everything in detail when we meet tomorrow. You have no idea how worried I’ve been since I heard the news.”
“Alright, alright, Ms. Jakeman. I’ll come to apologize tomorrow.”
“Deal.”
After ending the call, Skylar looked at Joe.
Joe took the initiative to confront her. “Do you remember Elliott?”
Skylar was taken aback. She had never realized just how petty Joe could be.
“I’ve met him. Of course, I remember,” she replied honestly.
Joe narrowed his eyes and moved closer, wrapping his hands around her waist.
The marks he had left earlier from their intimacy were still fresh on her skin. Now, when he gripped her, it sent a jolt of pain through her.
“Ouch…” she gasped.
“Where does it hurt?” Joe asked immediately.
“It hurts right where you’re squeezing me now,” Skylar replied, her eyes brimming with tears.
She hadn’t felt much during her shower. Although she had seen the red marks on her skin, she dared not recall the moment when Joe had gripped her waist so tightly.
As his gaze down to where his hands rested now, he instinctively released her.
Her waist was so slender that he could easily snap it with his hands if he tried. He had gripped her a little too hard, caught up in the heat of the moment.
Earlier in bed, he had been excessive. Looking at Skylar before him, whose eyes were slightly red, it felt as if she was silently accusing him of his wrongdoing. He finally said, “I’m sorry.”
“Just don’t do that again,” Skylar replied gently as she rubbed her waist.
The place where he had gripped her was still sore, and her legs felt achy. As she descended from the bedroom, it was as if she was walking on cotton.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
