When Jeremy entered the store, Natalie was the first person he saw. Within moments, he crossed the room and stood directly in front of her. 

At that moment, Natalie was still browsing train and flight tickets, trying to decide whether to travel by train or take a flight for their upcoming trip. 

Just as she was weighing her options, a shadow appeared over her. Someone was standing right in front of her. She looked up, and her heart skipped a beat when she saw who it was. 

“Jeremy…” Her voice faltered as her face turned pale. 

Jeremy gazed down at her, noting the surprise and discomfort on her face. Gone were the days when Natalie would greet him with joy and playful banter. Now, there was only shock and a clear desire to avoid him. 

“I just had lunch nearby and saw you here,” Jeremy said calmly. 

Natalie quickly composed herself. “Quite a coincidence. Skylar and I are just shopping around.” 

Their last encounter at Jakeman Residence had ended in an awkward confrontation, and now they had crossed paths again. She truly had no idea how to handle him. 

Skylar approached just then. Hearing Jeremy claim it was just a coincidence, she glanced around at the mall. 

The mall was relatively small. It wasn’t exactly a luxurious place, more of a modest, affordable shopping center filled with a decent crowd. 

The idea of it being a random encounter seemed questionable to her, but there was no need to call him,

Clearly, Jeremy still cared deeply for Natalie, and Skylar knew he had been looking for an opportunity to reconcile and possibly remarry her. However, judging by Natalie’s reactions in their recent meetings, she seemed completely uninterested in rekindling anything with him.

Just earlier, while they were having lunch, Austin had called Natalie. Skylar had stood off to the side, not wanting to interrupt. 

She held two large shopping bags in her hands. 

“There’s a café downstairs. How about we grab some coffee?” Jeremy suggested calmly. His tone wasn’t as forceful as it had been before, and that surprised Natalie a little. 

She glanced at Skylar before shaking her head. “Thanks, but Skylar and I still want to shop around a bit.” 

Jeremy’s gaze lingered on Natalie for a moment before he looked away, “Alright, maybe next time. You two enjoy.” 

He nodded at Skylar before turning and walking out. It did seem like he had just passed by and run into them. 

As soon as he left, Natalie let out a sigh of relief. “He’s different from before.” 

Skylar nodded. “Yeah, he does seem different. Have you been afraid of seeing him lately?” she asked, noting how tense Natalie had been the moment Jeremy appeared.
