Joe and Skylar looked like they were still married. There wasn’t a trace of distance between the two of them. Joe even took the initiative to approach Skylar. 

“You don’t have to go if you don’t want to,” Joe told Skylar. 

“It’s fine. It might be good to see her.” 

Rowan was utterly dumbfounded. He swallowed hard as he walked toward Skylar. 

Skylar glanced at Rowan, noticing the strong smell of alcohol on him, and thought he must have drunk quite a bit. Then, she raised an eyebrow slightly and said, “Try to let go.” 

Rowan didn’t expect Skylar, who had gone through something similar, to be so calm. She was handling it all with such ease and grace, even more so than him. This made him astonished. 

In the end, he just nodded dumbly, “I’ve let go.” 

Skylar smiled and nodded. “That’s good.” 

Jenny was dressed lightly on the rooftop, and the gusts of wind were making her cold. She couldn’t understand what was happening. It had been almost 40 minutes, but none had shown up. Did her life mean so little to them? Did they not care at all? 

“I’m clearly the victim. I’m so pitiful. Why do they think this is all my fault? It’s not my fault!” 

Jenny couldn’t comprehend it. She hadn’t told anyone else about today’s incident. Those so–called friends whom she used to eat and drink with distanced themselves once they knew Joe abandoned her and Rowan dumped her. They no longer treated her as a friend. 

That was a harsh and cruel reality. 

“I just don’t understand it. Why is everyone treating me like this?” Jenny cried, her eyes red. 

She looked down to the ground and knew very well that she would be smashed to pieces if she jumped. So, she took a step back. 

“I’ve truly lost everything. I’ve lost Joe and Rowan. I’d even been used like a toy. What do I have to do to get a better life? She muttered to herself, lamenting her situation. 

When she heard a sound behind her, she immediately turned to look. She didn’t expect the three of them to show up together. 

Her eyes first fell on Skylar. 

Seeing Skylar looking radiant as usual, without a trace of despair or self–pity that one might expect after being abandoned, Jenny couldn’t help but lash out at her first. A 

“You and Joe were married legally. You’re the legitimate Mrs. Martin. In the end, Joe publicly announced his engagement to someone else. Aren’t you angry? Aren’t you jealous? 

“Skylar, are you just pretending not to care? Are you secretly happy that Rowan dumped me? Does that make you feel better?” 

That must be it. Skylar must be gloating. Otherwise, why did she seem to be okay? She must be thrilled to see her worse off.
