The person who had been bumped into also froze in surprise when she saw Steven. 

“I… I’m sorry, I was in a hurry and didn’t see you. I didn’t mean to,” Annie quickly explained. 

After a brief moment of shock, Steven’s expression returned to normal. “It’s fine.” He then 

turned to leave. 

“You… How have you been lately?” Annie asked, staring at Steven with a hint of hesitation. 

Steven’s tone was cold as he responded, “I’m okay.” 

Annie watched in disbelief as Steven walked away. She hadn’t expected him to be so distant after such a long time apart, treating her as if they were strangers:

“Weren’t you going to the restroom? Why are you still out here?” Neville asked. 

Annie forced a smile, her face still a bit pale. “I accidentally bumped into someone,” she

“No,” Annie said, discreetly pushing him away before entering the restroom. 

After they finished eating, Steven and Charles went their separate ways to take care of their 

tasks. 

Skylar drove Janine and Harvey home before returning to her place. Just as she stepped inside, Joe followed her in. 

“What happened to Lizzie’s family?” she asked, exchanging glances with him. 

“She said her brother has been trying to take his own life these past few days. She suspects there’s something wrong at home. About a year ago, he suddenly changed. He became depressed and stopped talking to anyone around him,” Joe said. 

While speaking, they changed into slippers before heading inside. Skylar took two bottles of yogurt from the fridge and handed one to Joe. Then, they both sat down on the couch. 

Skylar said, “That does sound unusual. If it’s convenient, let’s go tomorrow. I’ll be taking Harvey and my mom on a trip in a couple of days. I’m worried that it might be too late if we wait until I get back.” 

She had mentioned the trip with Harvey to Joe before.
