Rosa immediately looked towards the door. "Ned, is that you? Are you back?"
The person at the door turned to Rosa upon hearing her question. "Ms. Reese, I'm not Mr. Sowle. I'm here to pick up Mr. Sowle's clothes. He's been very busy these days and is about to leave on a business trip."
Rosa was taken aback. "A business trip?"
"Yes."
"Where is he going? We haven't resolved our issues yet. How can he just leave?" Rosa was solely focused on herself.
If Joe left, it would likely be days before she saw him again.
Calvin pondered how much things could change in just a few days. He was somewhat speechless. The company was in a critical period, yet Rosa still didn't seem to grasp the urgency of the situation.
However, Joe had said there was no need to keep this from her. If she asked, he should answer directly. "He's going to Jipsburg. The group there is trying to acquire our company."
"Jipsburg?" Upon hearing the name, Rosa felt a jolt of anxiety.
She had a serious psychological aversion to that place. Calvin nodded before quickly starting to gather Joe's clothes.
There was no need to pack too much. They could buy whatever they needed once they arrived.
"Has Ned mentioned when he'll be back? We can't postpone our marriage any further. Maybe if we get married now, all the company's problems will be resolved."
Rosa had little understanding of the company's operations and had not considered working there in the past three years.
All she wanted was to become a wealthy socialite. She would go for beauty treatments, meet for tea, or do some light exercise every day.
Calvin looked at Rosa with a complex expression. "Ms. Reese, I know I shouldn't say too much, but you might want to pay more attention to the news."
Some former friends even anonymously criticized her, alleging that she was two-faced. They cited instances from the past, including her claims that she had spent her savings and borrowed money when Ned had his car accident to save him.
While it was true that she borrowed money, Ned later repaid it in double. Her friends felt that after Ned's car accident, he was particularly considerate, but Rosa hadn't used her own money to save him.
Instead, she was living off the salary Ned provided her.
Rosa flung her phone across the room. Her eyes were red with anger.
"Ridiculous! I knew those so-called friends would turn on me. They're just jealous and trying to tarnish my reputation."
Calvin happened to be walking by the door with some items when he heard her shout. He couldn't help but shake his head.
Rosa was clearly panicking. In addition to the gossip from her former friends, her depression had become a hot topic in the media.

Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
