When Rosa anxiously opened the message and read Cecil's words, she was utterly shocked, unable to believe it.
"Do you realize you caused me to lose my job? Why didn't you tell me that Skylar isn't just an ordinary person? She doesn't even need to be anyone's mistress. You've ruined me! I will never get another chance to work as a reporter again.
"And your relationship with Mr. Sowle isn't as deep as you've described. You've always been so pretentious. All your friends have a terrible impression of you. They say you're extremely selfish. If I were in Mr. Sowle's shoes, I'd break up with you too."
Cecil's tone was exceptionally harsh, possibly fueled by the loss of his job. He seemed on the verge of unleashing a furious tirade against Rosa. Rosa felt completely dazed.
Skylar was no ordinary person. Skylar had been living with Joe's grandmother after his accident, making it clear she shared a significant connection with him.
The media simply didn't understand the depth of their relationship, and it appeared that Skylar knew many influential people, all of whom seemed to respect her greatly.
Out of jealousy toward Skylar, Rosa hadn't considered the bigger picture. Her single-minded obsession had been to keep Skylar away from Joe. Now, with the news turning against her, she wondered if Joe's return to Jipsburg might signal his readiness to reclaim his former identity and place.
A sudden wave of dread washed over her like a bucket of ice water.
"No, that can't be. We've been together for three years; he wouldn't just heartlessly abandon me. He's just angry because I fabricated the depression and pretended to jump off the building. He must be mad about that."
It had to be that simple.
All she needed to do was sincerely apologize, and their future together would still be possible.
With that thought, she quickly asked the doctor about her condition. She had been struggling to rest well after the surgery and needed to stay in the hospital for further observation.
She would likely be discharged tomorrow. As long as she took good care of herself after being discharged, she wouldn't have any major issues.
She knew her health had always been good. She was just a bit weak right now, and everything would be fine.
…
At the hotel lobby, Calvin hurried downstairs, preparing to leave when someone suddenly blocked his path.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
