Rumors circulated that Edwin had suffered a sudden heart attack due to his excessive indulgence. Some speculated it was from taking too many pills, and his aging body just couldn't handle it.
After all, he was no longer as young as he used to be, and wild nights like the last were hardly sustainable.
Some suggested that Edwin had been staying in hotels every day with a different woman each night. Even a young man with a strong constitution would struggle to keep up with that kind of lifestyle.
The police contacted Joe. Outwardly, he wanted to maintain appearances, so he visited the morgue to see Edwin. He then arranged for Edwin's funeral in the most discreet way possible.
Of course, this was all out of respect for Gloria. If it weren't for her, Joe wouldn't have bothered to take a single glance at Edwin's body.
They chose not to inform Gloria about Edwin's death. Over the past few days, her condition had worsened.
She seemed to be in a constant state of slumber, hardly waking up for more than a few minutes at a time. When she did wake up, it was only to exchange a few words.
The doctors advised the family to remain in the hospital, as Gloria could pass at any moment.
Skylar and a few others, including Edgar, remained vigilantly at the hospital, not daring to leave.
Around midnight, as Skylar rested on the nearby couch, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her chest. Instinctively, she turned her gaze toward Gloria's hospital bed.
Gloria had woken up without anyone noticing. When she saw Skylar's eyes on her, she smiled and asked, "Why are you awake all of a sudden? Aren't you going to get some more sleep?"
Gloria appeared alert and vibrant, a stark contrast to the dazed look she had worn in the previous days. It was as if she had regained her strength.
Skylar hurried over to sit by her bedside. "Are you hungry, Grandma? Would you like something to eat? Are you feeling unwell? I can call the doctor to check on you."
Gloria shook her head with a smile. "I'm not hungry, and I feel fine. Have you and Joe been here the whole time these past couple of days? The hospital isn't comfortable. You should go home and rest well."

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
