Having a child?
Thora took a sharp breath. She knew that without the influence of the negative item, her husband would never want children.
While she liked children, her difficult upbringing left her unconfident about becoming a good mother.
Both options presented to her were ones she found hard to accept. But clearly, she had no other choices now.
"Thank you, Mrs. Martin. I'll think it over carefully and give you an answer soon," Thora said, deeply conflicted.
Skylar nodded with a smile. "Alright."
An hour after dinner, the rain had stopped. Once Thora left, Joe, who was about to play with Vivian, asked, "Did Ms. Wilcher have something on her mind?"
"Yes. Her husband has come into possession of a negative item, and it's already begun affecting him," Skylar explained.
Joe frowned. "Are negative items becoming more common lately?"
"It seems so," Skylar said with a hint of concern in her tone.
Suddenly, Joe leaned in and kissed Skylar on the lips. "Do you remember the dream you told me about a year ago?"
Skylar often had vivid dreams over the years, and she could recall them clearly upon waking. At first, she didn't think much of it, but over time, she realized something was off.
Sometimes, what she dreamed of would happen in real life.
When she found out she was pregnant, she dreamed it would be a girl and that she and Joe would have no more children in this lifetime.
"Which one are you talking about?" She couldn't immediately recall which dream he meant—she had told him many.
"The one where you said that one day, as Vivian grows up, you and I will be in a car accident and go missing," Joe said, his gaze deep and his tone heavy.
Skylar was visibly startled. "Yes, I still have that dream occasionally this past year."

More chapters please...
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
