Skylar said, "Ms. Dunn."
Priscilla immediately stood up. Looking at Skylar, who appeared calm and composed, she suddenly felt embarrassed by her own disarray.
She had been so distracted all day that now she was sure her face looked terrible—pale and disheveled.
"I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't disturb you, Mrs. Martin, but I was just notified of my termination today at work. I understand the reason, and I'd like to ask for a chance from you," Priscilla spoke bluntly.
She was momentarily taken aback when she learned that Priscilla had been terminated.
Suddenly, she remembered what Joe had said earlier. She quickly cleared her mind and looked at Priscilla. "A chance?"
"Yes, I know it was my own fault, allowing myself to develop feelings I shouldn't have. I made Mr. Martin uncomfortable, and that's why I was let go. I'm asking for your forgiveness, Mrs. Martin. I would really appreciate it if you could speak to Mr. Martin on my behalf. I promise I'll work hard and never have such feelings again," Priscilla said sincerely.
Skylar looked at her with a neutral expression. "I can't help you with that. Joe and I respect each other's work and decisions, and we don't interfere with one another. You've come to the wrong person. If you have any concerns, you should speak directly with Martin Group."
After speaking, Skylar glanced at the time. There were still ten minutes until the end of her workday.
Priscilla's face twisted with anger. "Mrs. Martin, are you really that worried Mr. Martin might like someone else? Otherwise, you wouldn't have complained to Mr. Martin, right?"
She was upset, feeling that Skylar was being arrogant and dismissive.
She couldn't understand why Skylar couldn't help with a simple request. If only Skylar had spoken to Joe and told him to keep her at the company, everything would be fine.
Skylar raised an eyebrow and then turned to the colleagues waiting outside the lounge. "Please call security for me. Thank you."
She turned back to Priscilla. "It's time for you to leave."
Priscilla's eyes welled up with tears. "You have no idea how important this job is to me. If I lose it, I'll have to start over from scratch. I don't have time for that. My parents have always had high expectations for me. If it weren't for my sudden termination, I could have been promoted by the end of the year. My salary would have doubled. I can't accept losing this job."

More chapters please...
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
