Skylar followed Vivian's finger and looked in the direction she was pointing. She saw that a small crowd had gathered around.
Skylar then confirmed that the person bothering Thora was none other than Hubert.
Skylar frowned, wondering about the situation between them. It seemed they hadn't made up yet.
Hubert said, "You said you needed space, and that's fine; I gave it to you. But you can't lie to me like this. Thora, we've been married for so many years. Can you forgive me just this once for my mistake?"
Thora replied, "I've forgiven you so many times already. What's the point of continuing this? It's better for both of us if we just separate. I'm giving you freedom now. You don't have to answer to anyone anymore. You can drink with your friends until dawn, do whatever you want. What else do you want from me?"
Hubert's temper flared. "What man doesn't have a few good buddies? We're just having a drink together. Why do you have to make such a big deal out of it? I already promised I'd cut down on meeting them. Isn't that enough?"
Thora shook her head and replied, "No, it's not enough. The whole mess happened because of your drinking buddies. They're the ones who got you into trouble, and you still can't see it. Drinking and calling each other buddies doesn't mean anything. It's all meaningless in the end."
"That's just an accident. They didn't know anything about it. They've been my friends for years, and our relationship is solid. You can't expect me to cut ties over some small issues like this. Tell me the truth, Thora. Is there someone else? Is that why you're so eager to divorce me?"
The more Hubert thought about it, the more convinced he became.
Thora took a deep breath, her gaze flicking to the crowd of onlookers. She frowned, lowering her voice, and said, "Let's talk about this outside the mall."
Hubert refused to let it go. "No, I need an answer now! Did you divorce me on purpose?"
Feeling increasingly uncomfortable, Thora was about to respond when Vivian suddenly spoke up. "Who are you? Why are you bullying Ms. Wilcher?"
Thora froze and turned to see Skylar and Vivian walking toward them. She felt even more embarrassed. She quickly told Hubert, "Let's talk outside."

More chapters please...
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
