At first, Thelma had thought she would have to wait a bit longer. Perhaps she would be given the chance to appear on variety shows, the kind where she would be used to support other celebrities. But to her surprise, she was handed three scripts and told to choose from them.
There were roles for the third female lead and the second female lead, both with substantial screen time—far more than she had ever hoped for.
Clement noticed that she hadn't spoken yet. Seeing her still absorbed in the scripts without voicing an opinion, he asked directly, "Are you not happy with these scripts? Is there nothing here you want to play?"
These scripts were the best he could get. Thanks to his connections, many production teams were willing to do him a favor and allow his newly signed celebrity to play minor roles in their projects. Of course, the male lead was always Charles. After all, Thelma didn't have much fame yet and needed a good project to help raise her profile.
Thelma quickly replied, shaking her head. "I'm not dissatisfied. These scripts are great. They offer roles and storylines I couldn't even dream of before. But do you really think I can do this?"
Clement looked at her thoughtfully. In his mind, whether he believed in her or not wasn't important. What mattered was that Charles thought she had the talent.
"You have the ability," he said, wanting to keep her confidence high.
Thelma's eyes welled up with tears. "I'll do my best."
She picked up one of the scripts from the three and said, "I'm really interested in this one. The third female lead doesn't have a lot of scenes, but the character has a lot of potential for development."
Clement was surprised. "It seems like you and Mr. Sullivan are on the same page about this."
No wonder Charles had signed Thelma. Not only was she stunning, but her choices were impressive too.
The other two scripts were for an idol drama and a fantasy series—roles many actors hoped to land to gain traffic and overnight fame.
The trend for these kinds of dramas was on the decline. Most of these shows were flooding the market, and their viewership kept dropping.
Yet, the script in front of Thelma was different. It was a historical drama, something Charles would be interested in. He hadn't done much of this type of role before.

Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
