Zea grew increasingly agitated as she listened to the sounds, her anger rising to the point where she was barely able to contain it. She clenched her teeth, furious at the situation.
Rhea could only sigh helplessly. There was something she hadn't said, something that could make Zea even angrier.
She listened closely, and the sounds didn't seem to come from just one woman. It sounded as though two women were attending to Randall.
Randall had truly become reckless. He was no longer concerned with Zea's feelings and had grown indifferent to her.
…
After returning, Vivian quickly changed clothes and drove to the mall. She almost forgot that she was supposed to meet her friends for a shopping trip that afternoon.
Her friends were her college roommates. They had lived together since freshman year, and although she was a couple of years younger than them, they treated her like a friend and a younger sister.
Tomorrow was one of their birthdays, and they planned to surprise her. So, they planned to go shopping together. Once they found the perfect birthday gift, they would split the cost and buy it together.
As she parked in the underground garage, she received a call from her roommate, Rebecca Kinsman.
"Are you here yet? Is there traffic?"
Vivian quickly replied, "I just parked. I'll head up right now. Which floor are you at?"
"We're at Starbrew on the first floor."
"Alright, I'll head over now."
Vivian immediately got out of the car, slinging her crossbody bag over her shoulder, and made her way toward the elevator. She was very familiar with this mall, knowing exactly where to park to be closest to the elevator.
When Vivian arrived at the elevator, there was hardly anyone inside. Just as the doors were about to close, two people entered. At first, she didn't pay much attention and didn't look up.

More chapters please...
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
